BackCountryPunk posted a topic in the *freshiezone*
I'm looking for someone to go skiing with this Thursday. Maybe a trip up to Red Heather, or up to Singing Pass. U got a car? I'll split gas and trail breaking duties!! backcountrypunk at hotmail.com -
Spent 3 days up at the Russet Lake Hut near Singing Pass. Knee-thigh deep powder in the right spots. Awesome time & first tracks in the pass! TR to follow soon.

"We were soloing along beside each other" - That would be the oxymoron. I beleive its dry humour coupled with word play. -
I have a pair of Scarpa Denali AT ski boots for sale. These are size 9ish (the sticker has long since gone missing). I normally wear a size 43, and they fit me very well. Good condition, with just the regular wear (black paint is scuffed up, minor scuffing on the edges, etc). These are the previous model of the Denali which have 3 buckles and a power strap. Makes for a fantastic touring boot as it is a bit more flexible & lighter than a 4 buckle set up. Colour is Red/Purple. This model doesn't have DynaFit hardware. These have lots of seasons left in them. I skied them last winter, and the person before only put in 1 season. $180. These are located in Vancouver.

I have a pair of Hagan Tour Expert skis (the blue hagan skis from MEC) length 170cm for sale. I bought these last year and loved them!! It was my 2nd season & I found these skis to be nice and forgiving & easy to ride. These are very light, making up tracks more managable. A few minor scratches on the top sheet & base. Mounted on the skis are a pair of Silveretta LST 500 bindings. These are the latest incarnation of the silveretta 400's, with an improved release mechanism, and carbon fibre rails, and a vastly superior heel riser. Much lighter than previous models. The wire bail at the toe will accept almost any boot (AT / Mountaineering). These are 2 seasons old, and in great condition. $360 for the whole set up. This is located in Vancouver.

I've got a pair of Scarpa Vegas (aka: Inverno) boots for sale. Size is Euro: 43 - US 10 (I think). I've hardly used these, maybe about 6/7 userdays in them. A half size too big for me. And now if its cold, well, I'll be in my ski boots!! These are in really good condition, with just the general scuffs from walking about in them, no major scrapes or gouges. $160. Email me at: backcountrypunk@hotmail.com These are in Vancouver, postage would be extra.

I have an Ortovox F1 Focus avvy beacon for sale. I bought 2 last winter to have a loaner, and now I'd rather have some new skis!!! So I am selling my spare one. This is the model that has the 3 LEDs to indicate signal strength to help with search times. It is in very good condition, only markings on it are my name & email address (almost rubbed off) and a #2 (to differentiate between the 2 of them). I just tested them out in the park this afternoon, and it works just fine. Blue body, yellow dial. $180 email me at: backcountrypunk@hotmail.com This is in Vancouver, postage extra.

Tell your friends, tell your family. Lets get some emails going. I know getting involved isn't a distinctly Canadian thing to do, but lets try it anyways. -

Couldn't find a picture of the turn off on my computer, sorry dude.

Hey, I was up there last May & managed to get a 2wd Econoline Van up to the trailhead. Its a bit rough for a car, but any fullsize truck or van should make it. The turn off to the right is at the top of a hill,(very vauge, I know), if you go down the hill and reach a bridge, you've gone too far. I'll have a hunt about for a picture of the turn off for you.

Was up there this weekend. The washouts are fine, I drove my van through them no probs. Might be a bit hard on a car though. The bypass glacier was VERY active while we were in the area (North Rib, tr coming soon). Chunks coming off quite regularily all day & night. Should be gone in a week or two! If you are going back down via Slesse Creek side, melt as much snow as you can when you are above the tree line, cuz theres no water until down about 500m. We were very parched by the time we hit it.

Try Sports Junkies, just up the street from Mec. They are on the corner at the East end of the block. Good deals on 2nd hand stuff. All the climbing kit is upstairs.
