  1. Matt's still pissed at Peter Puget and about missing wide left on the Bush leak story yesterday. Don't worry about that Matt, NPR also changed their story as the story developed yesterday.
  2. JoshK: If Olympia were dominated by Republicans even though the state is overwhelmingly left leaning (as it is), then we would be looking to see if there were anomalies that gave the Elephants an advantage. If the districts weren't screwed up in TX how do we explain the Donkey heavy state legislature? If it makes us feel any better we can blame the screwed up districts there on the Republicans. Back when conservatives voted on the Dem side they probably drew the districts up in the Dems favor. Now that conservatives vote Rep. they want to undo what they did.
  3. Squid: I may not be entirely up to date on the case but last time I read about it (it's been a couple of months - snore) looked like he had violated a TEXAS campaign law. I am not even sure I have a problem with the redistricting of TX at this point. I personally felt much more outrage towards the Randy Cunningham ,William J. Jefferson and Robert W. Ney scandals. Maybe those guys just aren't has easy to hate as Delay is??
  4. From the Gila all the way to Robson, and on any given day it can be pretty hot, or cold. Perhaps it has more to do with the altitude/thinner protection from the atmosphere and the intensity of the sun frying me and creating the sensation of heat.
  5. "It's not like it gets very hot in the Rockies anyway." Ever been in the Rockies?
  6. Tom Delay is an idiot. I'm not really sure why people were so threatened by him though. As for KK and F'weather...I don't know if they are as JoshK says "total fucking idiots". What do you say KK. Are you? JoshK sounds like he'd like to meet you out at the woodshed.
  7. Glacier Peak via Disappointment Peak Cleaver.
  8. My favorite Gale Norton moment.... She was being asked about Alaska/Oil etc, (I think it was with Charlie Rose). Charlie - "How does oil get from Alaska to the lower 48?" Gale - "The Trans-Alaskan Pipeline" Charlie - "Does it go through Canada or to the coast?" Gale - "That is a good question. I'll have to find out"
  9. I agree with you Jesse. Someone is going to get killed up there (could be a hiker if I catch them chucking rocks off the top). Oct of 2004 we were on Lovin Arms and a party at the top was rolling large rocks off the cliff ~100 feet left of the route. I think the signs should also have some legal ramifications spelled out. Is there an ordinance/law against this? (I could be mistaken making the assumption that these yahoos can actually read)
  10. Come on PP. Step into line. The way we play it here in the NW is and always will be - Bad news for America = good news for us flaming liberals.
  11. Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my handgun.
  12. CBS is correct. Lambone is spraying all over rcc.
  13. Yeah, it's too bad that they let people in there in the first place much less laid asphalt roads all over the place in a NP. Hopefully one day they'll build a fence around the entire thing to keep those pesky Vibram sole prints from being such an eyesore.
  14. Cobra Comm. - I agree that it is a short route but, I'd love to watch you send it without a rope. Let me know before hand.
  15. Heresy @ Smith starts out with a nice boulder problem that doesn't really feel consistent with the rest of the route.
  16. I agree with Squid on Bale Cramer. Seems harder than 5.9+ Dru. I'd give the start V2+.
  17. Greg Child "Thin Air-Encounters in the Himalaya" Chris Bonington "Kongur-China's Elusive Summit" Gaston Rebuffat "Starlight and Storm"
  18. I'd take the cold temps though. You're never hit with the pineapple express at 11k in the Rockies.
  19. Proceed with caution. My ice axe tends to get stuck in the shovel. It would make for a novel self arrest.
