The good news for the GOP is that once the party and the McCain machine is done coaching, briefing, and preparing her, and every Republican in town comes out to support her, she'll owe so many political favors that the only corruption she'll be fighting is figuring out which bastard left the toilet seat up.

Yes, I see where you're going... an unwed teenage mother from a small-town would be just the thing to bring in the American people (women, especially) and bring out the negative smear tactics from his opponent. A bold masterstroke. What a maverick!

That's what I'm sayin' man! None of this shit makes sense! Bristol is Trig's mother. It's the only rational explanation, dude!
  7. The anarchists should stand down; the RNC is doing quite well crashing itself thank you.

Here's another slant: Bristol isn't really pregnant this time. She really is Trig's mother and when the McCain Camp found out that Sarah had pretended to be pregnant and falsely claimed the child to be her own, the McCain's invented this new pregnancy to quell the rumors. The McCain Campaign's claim that His Maverickness knew about the pregnancy are total horseshit (part of the reason for picking Palin was to appeal to evangelicals, remember). Bristol, now under a PC media blackout, can now hole up quietly somewhere until a baby is found in time for Obama's inauguration. As Porter suggests, all the blame this mess can be safely laid at the feet of John McCain's "maverick", high-stakes VP vetting process. What a douche.

  15. Boy, those "stimulus" checks Bush handed out sure could come in handy now.
  16. Dude, I don't know about Fife (or wherever you live), but that shit is totally legal up here.
  17. I'm looking forward to seeing the abrupt transition the McCain Campaign team is making in its brand from the emphasis on "experience" to that of "reform/change". Let's see which campaign can out-"change" each other and how fast the mainstream media is able to regurgitate it whole. Won't that be fun?
  18. OMG! Baby bump!
  19. Given that prior to, during, and after Katrina, conservatives in general and Republicans in particular ideologically and practically stood by the idea that the Federal government should have no role in security, relief, or reconstruction with disastrous results, can anyone see the current gush of concern by the GOP over Gustav as anything more than making political hay out of tragedy? And yes, just asking this question could be construed as making political hay by the Ironically PC Thought Police. Whoop-whoop!
  20. He's in St. Paul, he had planned to speak but I hear the RNC may be canceling his speech so that he can respond appropriately to Gustav.
  21. Wow Fairweather, that was entirely predictable!
