  1. Yes, clearly you need only to look at the economic advisers Obama has surrounded himself with, the major contributors to his campaign, the corporate endorsements, the nomination of the Other Business Party, etc., etc. to realize that Obama is a RED! Ha-ha. You should take that show on the road! Get a Mr. Microphone, drive around Tacoma in an Uncle Sam outfit. Swing voters love that shit!
  2. Great Scott, Fairweather! What are you waiting for? Your ultimate nightmare of a communist takeover of the global economy is coming true! Are you rallying the troops? Planning a counter-strike? Dipping into your bunker rations? Nope...you're googling "Palin-Cunt-Obama". Nice.
  3. More "straight talk".
  4. She better win or else what? Or else he won't get to star as Jethro in the new version of the Beverly Hillbillies with the Palin's playing the Clampett's.

    Bush Imagery

Never in our history has an American president offered (or been more deserving of) so much visual pummeling. I'll miss the outpouring of imagination and creativity associated with the anti-Bush cottage industry and the visual pinatas he and his followers gave given us over the years.

  10. Whereas the less articulate and obviously clueless like Palin and Bush will attract the intellectual heavyweights. Hmmm, that's an interesting argument...
  11. Nah, he just doesn't quite know how to break it to his followers that all Arabs aren't terrorists without alienating his base. And yeah, that's just as scary...
  12. McCain wants to WHIP Barack Obama? WTF?!
  13. Apparently, "Arab" is the new "N*****". No, he's not an Arab, he's a decent family man and citizen?! WTF?
  14. The questions raised are not rhetorical ones, if that's what you're asking.

    Good Luck.
  16. The tensions between a coordinated, global response and a fractionalized, local one to what is in essence a global crisis will be very interesting in the days, months, years to come. If the management of economic crises and the institutions erected to do this are to be global, what does that mean for political systems that are local and national in nature? How do populations maintain a semblance of democratic control over decision making processes that take place above the national level? On the other hand, national responses, as the 20th century has shown, can be quite destructive and do not necessarily lead to more democratic outcomes.
  17. What we need is about 3 or 4 more parties and a modern political system.
  18. While our own Punch and Judy Show continues in America, Europe's trajectory has a familiar ring. Brushing up on your Schumpeter and Polanyi?

"You know it's time to sell when the shoe-shine boy is giving you stock tips."
  20. I don't get it. Is this to suggest that critiquing past mistakes (even if in an unconstructive manner) at this point is somehow irrational, irrelevant, or in poor taste? Is it time, in both political parties' words, to fix the problem, not time to affix the blame? Historical amnesia on a grand scale is why we're in this mess; let's not be so quick to toss even these fools' most recent blunders down the "memory hole".

G.M. stocks are looking like a bargain right now. And hey, 8500 is rock bottom, right?
  24. Well I think it's finally clear, once and for all, that the Bush tax cuts have been an overwhelming success. Just my two cents.
