I was about 10 chairs behing my wife and daughter and saw my daughter fall out of the chair lift. that was something like two years ago, she is fine, but I will NEVER be the same. I still get an unreal, this can not be happening to me feeling when ever I thinkg aobut it.

When my son was born, the instant he came out a wrist ban went on me, and my wife, and an ankle band on my son. They did the entire test and after a while it was off to the nursery. Like a Child with a new toy I was off to see how the little squirt was doing after being gone for only 5 min. I get to the nursery and the check my wrist band and we are looking around and I don’t see him. But hey all new born look alike, Right? WRONG! I could instantly see my son was nowhere to be found. Nurse on duty said well lets do a systematic check. HE WAS NOT THERE! With out yelling, which was a major feat for me, I told the nurse in a very firm tone that she will locate my son, NOW! As it turns out my son was border line premature so they had carted him off to an incubation room. And sure enough there he was.

Unfortunately made in China has become synonymous to poor quality when made in China should not be that way. It should only mean made in China. The question we consumers need to ask is the Importer or the Brand owner trustworthy? Will they send a QA team to oversee their interests in China? I work for a company that has an office in China that is staffed by locals and managed by North Americans. It sole purpose is to monitor the quality of products we have made in China and other product we purchase to make sure they meet our brand quality standards. It costs a whole lot less to send some people to China than it does to process in North America or to rebuild your quality brand image because a manufacturing plant in China cut too many corners on your brand. We ship NOTHING that was produced with our out QA person in the plant; this is a non-negotiable point of our company. This company policy gives a competitive advantage in the market place. We can deliver made in China goods at the higher prices consumers are willing to pay for the guarantee of better quality. Most of our competitors have never been to China, or only there once or twice. Will North Face, Patagonia, OR, Etc. be willing to have a QC team in China to oversee their QA? If not then their brands will disintegrate into K-Mart Blue Light Specials.

So I am fed up about hearing of people getting whack by someone else when they are skiing and have decided to buy me a helmet. 1.) What do should I be looking for? 2.) What questions should I be asking myself? 3.) What do I need to know about ski helmets?

Plan has now been discussed as well as time. In the process of getting cell phones and radios... suggestions?? We use radios as not everyone has a cell phone and not every ski resort has cell phone service. Well, used to not have the cell phone service. they might now all have service don't know.

So last summer I am car camping with the family and the in-laws. My wife and I take off for a day hike up that side of Baker. I can’t remember the name of that rout. We get up to the side of this big dug out vally that used to be the glacier. My wife stops there and I want to get at least up to the base camp and check it out. Well the weather starts to move in, and I mean FAST. It is beautifully clear day, and then clouds everywhere. Then suddenly coming right up behind me is that same old fart from Si. I kid you not! I just about crap in my paints, and again, he has the full pack like he is on a Himalayan expedition. He sort of laughs and cackles as he passes me like I am standing still. He sort of disappears in the clouds. A little later the clouds dissipate. I get up to the base camp and there are some people camping there and I mention how the cloud was really weird. That asked me what cloud? So I ask them if they saw the old man…. Not a sign of him. Has anyone seen this ghost or is he just haunting me?
