Well...actually I did go climbing....Stewart and I put up a new route in the bluffs on sunday(saturday was called due to hangover/soccer)....actually more of a variation on an old route...on Battered Balls Thanks to those who defended me here....but I think I was in the wrong here....and NeverSurfaced got an apology from me regarding this situation, as did other parties on this site for past tiffs I've been involved in. The situation on ST got me to thinking about how my perception of peoples responses can be so far off... I am not defending my actions....they are basically un-defendable... The person who "outed" me on ST obviously is not feeling the love....oh well....get in the line-up...but I find it funny that the same anonimity they so charge me with using to my advantage....you are now hiding behind...but don't worry....your identity is safe with me. Part of it stems from my love of shit-stirring, I guess...but eventually you have to sleep in the bed you make. For the record: To those I've offended now, in the future, or in the past...I am sorry.

In the gear area could we add a "Gear Share/Rent" section? It'd be nice to have an area where people can share or rent gear they may have sitting around collecting dust....such as wall gear, ice gear, skis, Automobiles, whatever....stuff people don't exactly want to sell or buy....but that could stand some use.....the DVD share could go here....so could a magazine/bookswap... for example I have a ton of Wall Gear...Ledge etc....that I would rent out cheap/trade for something...for folks wanting to try a wall in Squish or Where ever... and that may help them decide if they want to get into it or not. There are a lot of other activities....where the gear you need is prohibitive of participation...perhaps we can help each other out. Just an Idear. ps... the search function is bollocks

My Dixie Wrecked

When I was planning my trip to Viet Nam I emailed Todd to get some beta on the climbing in Ha-Long bay....I expected to get back a brief e-mail about the quality of the routes and perhaps a bit on logistics...what I got back was several hand drawn topo's with a map of the entire bay that cross-referenced all the climbing. In addition Todd gave me tons of beta on logistics, boat rental etc... He was a controversial character and always seemed to be in the center of something...I think that's what I liked about him best. He wasn't afraid to stir up the shit....that whole City Park saga is a climbing story classic! Cheers to a life well led Todd!

We got what sounds like the same thing in the Adamants from the stream fed from Austerity Galcier....we switched to a smaller, less silty stream and got better pretty quick...Eric at the CMH lodge said it was from the "rock flour". I think it was Matt's cooking
