They are 4 hours apart by car. Not a very good link up IMO and I thought the first 5.10 pitch was hard for the grade....but I am a wimp.

Do you remember when there were arrows a couple years back?

I ask because I stepped around the bolt on the fourth pitch last week which would make the crux mantling on the second pitch or passing the pitons on the third pitch.

What do you consider the crux?

Young Warriors is different. The huge block left of the first bolt is now gone. Who trundled it? JH?

Went out to Beacon last night. Crazy great weather for climbing. Had the place to ourselves. Did YW's.....did someone trundle the huge block about 12-15 feet up the first pitch? It is missing.

Heading out to Beacon tonight. Will be my first time this season. I will be with a couple of Beacon virgins. So excited to touch the church again.

When were you guys down there? I spent 6 nights in the valley with my family over July 4th week. Not much climbing because I had my kids but that place is the most beautiful place I have ever been..... Lots of swimming and riding bikes. I thought it was way too hot to climb. At least in the sun. We did hike up to lower Yos falls to swim and got some climbing in on the left side. No idea what the cracks are called that we climbed but they were great. Love the shot of you diving in the upper pool. I have swam in that years ago when my wife and I were there (pre-children) in 2005. It was Aug and we climbed some easy 5 pitch thing up to there. The falls were not running so we swam....super cool. Thanks for sharing.

Well....I have serious issues with the new Olson Guide and he knows it. I have spoken with him on this issue. He changed quite a few of the original ratings which is a serious no no in the climbing world.

Ozzy and company are fucking awesome. I hardly think they are trying to relive their past glory. They are not doing it for the money. They are all loaded. Try youtubing interviews from Geezer (bass player) and listen to why they did another album. Also how much fun they are having playing with Ozzie again. Super inspiring. Any we have more Black Sabbath!!!!!!!!!! I thought the album is amazing. Have you heard the entire thing yet?

I have seen some people lead it straight up and come in from the right and place smaller cams. I lead it up and to the left and place a 3 or a 4 inch behind the top of the flake.

I doubt that anyone has lead Big Dipper since the FA. I talked with Micah about the climb and he mentioned that an unknown person put a bolt in it and that it was later chopped. I don't see a good way to protect it but didn't scrutinize it either; too busy grunting and cussing. How would a .75 C4 get stuck behind the flake on Standing Ovation? That spot takes a #4 C4, no? Chad Not an unknown climber. I drilled the hole (I cleaned the climb and put the anchor in). We top roped it and decided it did not protect well at all. So we drilled the hole. Then at the last second decided not to place it. Then Micha came along and climbed it. He rated it 5.8 at first, where the rest of us top roping it thought more along the lines of 10.c. then he came to a final grade of 10.a which IMO is still very sand bagged. I wish I would have gone ahead and placed the bolt. Nobody climbs it because there is NO protection from hitting the ground if you screw it up. Oh well.

I bought the extra disk. The first song is awesome. The rest are OK.

I cant stop listening to it. I think it is as good as anything they have ever released. IMO.
