  1. What the fuck...
  2. Looks pretty good to me, Scott. Sounds like a fun trip. Im not familiar with that area. Is it a worthwhile ski after a little more snow?
  3. Ooops is right. By watching the guys who were filming that clip, I would have never guessed that people were scattering down river. They didnt seem too concerned. Damn.
  4. Peter
  5. Thanks for that enem. I suppose what I was getting at was: how does a company that at one point in time made the best tele skis around run out of cash. But your answer, in a round about way, sheds a little light on what was more or less a rhetorical question. I somehow missed that interview. Bachelor has a pretty extensive demo day in the spring. At least they did when I lived down there. Id be suprised if they didnt have a rep for that event.
  6. In that case, might be worth checkin out. My first tele skis were Tua's (after the Kazama Cornices, of course), and I was quite disappointed as well when they closed up shop. However, wasnt Tua previously owned by BD? And why are they nolonger making ski's? There seems to be a few coincidentals that tend to steer me away, however, there appears to be just as much evidence supporting the possibilty of a decent ski coming from G3. Ill definitely demo a set this season, but Id still like to hear from someone in the spring, that put some time on a pair in a variety of conditions, and no doubt we will.
  7. Paul Parker... Ever heard of em? Im not sure how much of a design background he has, but Im interested in hearing from someone else thats dropped way too much cash on G3s first shot at it. If I was in the market, which I always am, this is the last company Id invest in right now. Too many good skis being made by other, more reputable co's.
  8. All we need to do is boycott. They'll feel it. We got enough pull on this site alone that I bet we could get it down to $51 by next season. Like Ken said, plenty of other reasonable options.
  9. Sounds like you guys made a good call by bailing when you did. I was up at Muir at about 1400 and it looked as if those staying on the mountain that eve were in for a rough night. How well can you see the approaching weather from down there?
  10. Right on fellas. Great TR. Id also be interested in pics if you have em.
  11. Skinned up on Tuesday. Very straight forward boot track as someone else noted. You may have noticed that we are expecting precip for the remainder of the week, through the weekend and into next (ie. shitty visibility), so if you are still planning to go, I would recommend bringing a GPS if you have one. If not, borrow or rent one and learn to plot waypoints or you may have a hard time getting back down, depending on the amount of snow/wind you get behind you. Good luck and have fun.
  12. Sorry to hear that Chelle. The bc conditions in north yellowstone were, hmmmm, badassssss. Coupla feet of dry and fluffy pow. Unfortunately, I think its the best action Ill get all season. Makes me not want to come back to seattle. See yall soon, I suppose.
  13. Hmmmm. Sorry, didnt notice those. Alright then. Carry on . Id still like to have that report from JETT on my desk by 0700 tomorrow.
  14. Whoa, fellas. Easy now. You should either indicate that you are joking, or shut your damn mouth. We can all be friends here. No need to harsh on eachothers sticks. Notice that there arent any bindings on the Atomics. He's obviously saving em for his little sister to learn on, which is quite noble of Jeffy. Everything's cool Now, in a nice tone, JETT, I'd like to hear about which ski's, specifically, that you dont agree with in Dana's arsenal.
  15. Climb: NCNP, Maple Pass- Date of Climb: 11/26/2004 Trip Report: We drove through the Skagit valley and heavy rains to reach Rainy Pass and were delighted to find clear skies and sunshine. At the start of the Lake Anne loop trail we found about a foot or so of snow with lots of open patches. Taking this lack of coverage into account and our late start (10:15), we strapped on the snow shoes for a quick hike to Heather and Maple Passes. The accumulation and coverage improved as we progressed, and after about two hours of brisk hiking we were at Heather Pass, standing on about 10-12 of new. At this point we ditched our shoes and donned our skins for the trip up to Maple Pass. It was now a little after noon, and the weather seemed to be holding, however we noticed that a few dispersed clouds were beginning to move in from the west. We gained Maple Pass through 12-18 of new snow (the lee side), and found 6-8 of new on crust on the backside. As more clouds carried the evenings new batch of powder in, we dropped a short run off the backside, booted back up, and then skied down toward the lake, through what proved to be a pretty heavy nearly two feet of powder in most places, which was quite a bit more work than I had anticipated. It was worth it, I guess. This was an excellent quick day trip off of hwy 20 that I would reccomend folks take advantage of before they close the road. Last night and today were supposed to bring more snow, clearing on Sunday and Monday. Get up there while you still can. Unfortunately, I still use slide film in my SLR and dont have pics to post yet. Ill get em up as soon as I can.
  16. So. Where's the pow-pow? That looked pretty much like what Ive been skiing on since October. Where yall at?
  17. So. Are there quite a few people staying up there this time of year?
