I have to say that like Dru I think a lot more about being seriously injured than dying. Dying is inevitable for everybody, but living in a wheelchair is not.
A friend of mine died in the mountains earlier this year. When I heard about the circumstances of his death and the last few moments of his life, during which I'm fairly sure he was terrified out of his mind, I decided that it didn't make sense to say he "died doing what he loved." I could stand to hear this phrase a little less, I guess.
