Did you know that The Association of Trial Lawyers of America is changing its name to the American Association for Justice? Now THAT makes me sick.

The TEU count does not include the cargo from the airport. In order to get goods from the port (Seattle and Tacoma) to the Eastern part of the state, the infrastructure must be in place. It really is that simple.

Have you noticed that the Port of Tacoma now handles more shipping than Seattle? This is not only incorrect, it is misleading. If you include SeaTac, which is controled by the Port of Seattle, Seattle does a great deal more shipping business than Tacoma can ever hope to.

Thanks for this post. I am curious about the machinery thing. Does this mean that the companies that produce, say, vitamins also produce illegal pills for sale in the US? Or are they producing drugs that are legal overseas? Or are they being produced overseas in the first place? Are there any companies you know of offhand that are reputable? I had trouble yesterday donating to the fund. I was at WAMU, and they were not able to find the Fickeisen name. I don't know if he looked under "K"; is that a formal title to the fund or something? Has anyone else had trouble searching just by name? When I go back in, I'll take the # with me, but I am curious about the name issue. Thanks.

Funny story: Kurt and I are chatting. A doctor comes in and interrupts our conversation for a moment. Soon as Doc leaves, I look at Kurt and admit I can't remember what we were just talking about.
