  1. Depends on what services they pay for
  2. I'll take him after you're done.
  3. Obviously the effort at trying to think was just too much for you.
  4. Thats the name I forgot to add to the Crampon/Divot/eggplant/Icefall list. THanks.
  5. Oh, is *that* what climbing is? Thanks for letting us know.
  6. Yeah, but I sure wish they'd wait to laugh *afterwards*
  7. You are right; how could two accidents be possible on Hood? Maybe the one guy killed and ate the other two.
  8. That is so true. What's worse though is that it triggers all their performance-anxiety fears. They often turn this around into the, "I feel like I can never satisfy you enough" discussion.

and now you are sandwiched by them
  10. You remind me a little bit of Divot/Icefall/Crampon/eggplant with the way you word things and your ee cummings style punctuation.
  11. If that were true, then overpopulation wouldn't be such a problem.
  12. You mean you don't love me for my schweeeet moves?
  13. I think at this point even you do not understand what you are saying.
  14. I know what a trashman does, and I don't want to be one. But they are necessary.
  15. Either that or you fall into the high risk category--which means that you are actually costing the rest of everyone. And just a little reality check: you are chosing to pay your insurance premiums. It is your option to have insurance in the first place. Don't like it? Don't buy it.
  16. You make your assumptions. Until you have done both, you probably can't say for sure.
  17. This is a good thought process and valid questions. I think to myself; "Well, does the doctor who performs euthanasia on a suffering adult or performs an abortion of an encephalitic baby less honorable than a doctor who keeps alive a comatose shell of a human?" Maybe not. Maybe so. Would I travel great distances and do things I didn't think I could in order to keep my family alive? Maybe so. Maybe not. Would I pick a job for the money? Maybe. What would I say to a person in the service? Well, I look at my best friend of 15 years and tell her that I am proud of her for being the first woman flight surgeon in our Navy and that even though she has to go back to Iraq for another year on the front, I will think of her and wish her the best every single day of the year. Would I deny you the right to your opinion? No.
  18. I'm fine with being called a peon--even though I am not an unskilled worker no matter how you look at it; but whatever. As for misguided though; I take my guidance regarding the right to bear arms directly from the Constitution. You may consider this misguided, but the majority does not. Thank God each is entitled to his own opinion in this country.

She was just changing venue for new options...
  20. Americans are the most "outraged" group of people on the planet. Who will really have the follow through to try and legislate anything related to climbing? And here is the perfect Christmas gift idea (albeit an unoriginal one) for the climber in your life: a donation to the Access Fund.
  21. BTW, who is "the rest of us"? Does it sound like folks talk about climbers as if they are not taxpayers?

There's no such thing as "too many"
  23. da toof!!!
  24. Speak for yourself. I vote person and ideals, not party. If that turns out to be one party more than another, then so be it, but party rarely, if ever, enters into it. I don't see voting for the person that reflects my views and ideals as throwing away my vote, even if I'm the only person that voted for him/her. Otherwise I'd be sanctioning things I don't believe, just to try to pick the winner. Now that's a wasted vote. Well said!
