  1. As Archenemy recently asked: "What is wrong with you?" that's 'cause i asked if she was wearing lace. thats between us. I won't speak for Arch, but you have some serious fucking problems, creep. that pretty much sums up what I was thinking. A toast to ya!
  2. Legos are the best
  3. more often, it's "prostitute".
  4. It's for the "Y" knot.
  5. I can't help but notice that the only people who get referred to as their profession in these types of cases (and murder cases) are strippers and prostitutes. I never hear the victim get referred to as "the project manager" or "the engineer" if that happened to be the profession of the woman who was attacked. These are people, they are women. Please show a little respect. Pay attention over the next year when you read the papers about rape and murder victims. You will notice the consistancy with which prostitues or strippers are called out by their vocation whereas others will not be. Mark my words, you will see it over and over again. If they had a clown for entertainment at their party and an incident happened while he was being a clown at their party, he'd probably be referred to as the clown? Maybe at least? I think if she was a rape victim while just hanging out at home, she would not be called "the stripper." Just "the woman." Happened at school? "The student." I suspect people are generally kept in the context of their case and in this case, the stripper was her context. Maybe I'm wrong though, I don't pay that much attention.
  6. Really? Sounds so violent. I thought there was another way...

  8. I find myself getting aroused.
  9. I'm not sure I am following you here... Apparent means readily seen.
  10. His GEB book is part of what inspired me to get into the IT field.
  11. No. But I am saying that folks who feel that abortion is ok while capital punishment is not are ok. I am saying that people who thing abortion is heinous while capital punishment is acceptable are okay. IOW, my statement had nothing to do with my personal beliefs beyond the one that says accepting two apparently conflicting ideals is normal and doesn't need to be defended constantly.
  12. Well done. You know,in the US, we always forget what we did 5, 10, 20 or more years ago. "The masses are asses". You have a lot of info that no one remembers. I guess we're too happy sucking down lattes and krispy cremes and buying chinese made DVD players to care. We are manipulapulated in a cocoon of consumerist cush. We act as if there is no war going on. We go shopping and spending like there is no need for sacrifice. And we get divided into RED and BLUE states. Who the hell came up with that?. I don't want to be a RED or BLUE American, I want to be an American and have a spectrum of views and still want to help my fellow human instead of being at odds with one another. To divide us into colored states is an artifice to manipulate us. I think the public woke up too late to this Iraq quagmire so we will be paying the bill to the tune of $8 BILLION per MONTH. What that money could do to alleviate problems in our own country or even the world, if we so wished. Looks like Iraq got fucked and our service people got fucked too. I was in the service, but I would not encourage anyone to join today. You're only defending corporations, not your friends and family anymore. And what the hell happened to Osama? By the way, do you think the bush admin is watching this site for politically disgusted climbers? I hope the CIA does not cut my rope! <<<>>> Good rant--need more.
  13. Ok, so the UN reports that population growth is beginning to decline, with real numbers to start dropping significantly in 2015. Good news. Of course, I figure that this problem is a self-correcting one no matter what. When we reach the limit that the earth can support, we die. Personally, I believe in population control enough to have decided not to reproduce. I wish in my heart that all women in the world had the luxury of being able to make this decision for themselves. There's my 0.02 FWIW
  14. Right on. Thanks.
  15. Naw, that was Quicker than Ewe's little brother, Straighter than Ewe.
  16. I think that a facet of being an intelligent human being is the ability to hold two contradictory ideas or beliefs simultaneously and still functioning just fine.
  17. Population decline would be the result of violence and war, would it not? Just kidding. Where can I go to find out more about the pop growth rates around the world and the breakdowns of immigration vs. organic growth?
  18. I agree that the developed world population is important to control. But I understand that we are already not reproducing fast enough to even replace ourselves. Didn't the US growth mostly occur as a result of immigration?
  19. Yes, that is why I used the example.
  20. Maybe because the parent is the one who would be making the choice, not the individual? That's like the choice about what gender to give birth to--something is just a little off about it.
  21. that's an interesting question. I didn't think of that.
  22. Especially during a leap year. I think the winter conditions makes more sense than anything else. Why was that not adopted in No Amer?
  23. Agreed, it is certainly not a new arguement in ethics. But the human behavior I am supportive of is the one that says homosexuality is not a disease to be cured.
  24. Good. That disgusting psuedoscientific bullshit should be discouraged. Unacceptable.
  25. I like your thoughts--thanks for posting them. I think that the recent wars in the middle east are not all only for oil, but also for religion and ideology. I think Iraq was not the only progressive nation--Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are a couple of obvious candidates for that title as well. Some of the smaller nations in the area were (and are) also progressive. My hat is off to you for supporting your beliefs so strongly.
