So I'd like to hear your opinions on this situation. Yesterday at Index I was climbing with two friends. It was morning and we were at Toxic Shock. There was no one else back there, and there didn't seem to be too many folks at Index overall that day. So we were screwing around on the climb and were pretty much done. One climber was at the top and was changing out the rope so we could pull it. I'd told my other buddy that I wanted to just do the bottom part of the climb again (just the first handful of moves). So a couple of climbers come up and stop by us. They ask if we are doing laps. My buddy tells them that we are pretty much done and mentions that I'll be doing the bottom part real quick and then we were heading out. So the guy says cool and walks over to the start of the climb (I was lowering my friend and standing to the right of the climb while belaying). This dude opens up his rope bag and lays the thing out pretty much right on top of our rope bag. The person I was lowering had to be careful to avoid landing on it b/c it was right underneath her. Then, he stood right there flaking his rope while we switched. We had to step around him to avoid running into him. Again, there were no other climbers there and we had already told him we were about to head out. So WTF? Is that weird? I mean, it is just open space there, it ain't like we are sharing a ledge, sportclimbing close together, at the gym or anything like that. I felt surprised and like this guy was craming himself in on us for no understandable reason. Anyone else had this happen to them? Am I being all whiney and nitpicky? Should I have said something? Or is this normal behavior now?

Bummer about this. I love veggie booty! I only allow myself to get one bag at a time b/c I eat it all in one sitting.

Wow, I have got to get some new hobbies. I feel like the things that I am really good at are things that I used to do, but don't do much anymore. I recently picked up fly-tying and I think I am going to be pretty decent at it--but probably not above average. Matches up with my fishing talents though!

Mountain Madness is there. I don't know if they let folks catch a ride with them for a fee or whatnot. May want to call and ask.

Not the best? I'd blow that up into a fucking poster and hang it in my office. Hell, I just may do that!!!!

amazing things right before my very eyes. Nothing to do with parametic-ness; just climbing. Incredible, unbelievable climbing.

John the Paramedic is my new climbing hero.

We had environmental pollution issues in the US *long* before we were buying stuff from China. And as for the anti-regulation camp: the US does not subscribe to unfettered capitalism. Never has, never will. And for good reason.

I always wanted a pool table just like that.

I liked this thread. I think it just needs a little more input.

Anne Coulters is an evil witch who has cast a spell upon these poor individuals. Ann Coulter is a she-male with a botched transgender operation. That explains her bitterness. That is true. Women who don't work out as men are bitter.

I don't see anywhere on that pg that says "good for the environment". I see that they don't add to the landfill. You have to admit that's a pretty big step. The idea is good though, just like the Seattle Aquarium filtering water and releasing it back into the Sound. Actually making something better after you've used it is a good business model bonus.

Here's my discuss: Who has heard of an infant climbing? Is this some French thing or what?

Yes, longer term planning will come into vogue again at some point. People are becoming painfully aware of too many downsides of short term planning.

Doesn't that mean he has some of the best coverage in the nation? He's probably not able to sign up dependents on the coverage though... ? Yeah, prison docs are far better than any doc you can go to. And you can chose an HMO or a PPO so you can go out of network if you wish. Elective surgeries are no problem. There are lots of benefits.

As you know, this is a huge topic. Last week Business Week's cover story was "The Real Cost of Doing Business Offshore". I see it as a good thing to get the business community to understand that the supposed savings from working offshore are much, much smaller than they used to be (inw: taking other factors into account changes the cost). To change this, not only to consumers need to continue to voice their displeasure and refuse to support companies that don't do business the way they expect, but businesses themselves have to realize that the financial benefits are not as they appear. Good for you GGK for bringing up this topic!

I'm pretty sure we are all just kidding around. But you are right, the humor is probably inappropriate anyway.
