  1. wicked highball action too. Freesolo even.
  2. What does the finger crack on the right go at?
  3. pshhhhh she didn't even do the sitstart right, you have to use the horizontal crack, it's the rules, cuz the other start holds are off-limits in that boulder problem.
  4. The funniest part is it was only about 8 inches of powder over rain crust, so no reason to poach my skin track. Not that it matters, but I thought it made a great photo! I was actually a little worried... the wind was dumping a LOT of snow over onto the headwall all morning. I was really tempted to go for everybody's favorite line (or so I gather) on the descent but I was worried about wind deposition. This is all I managed to set off :
  5. Alright, fess up, who were the two guys climbing Coleman Headwall today...
  6. Chill dude we're just whining. You know of this was a predominantly womens' forum then there would be threads like "why are all men here either stupid, married, or not into women..."
  7. Word palms trees and favorite beaches covered by lava and all that shizit...
  8. note: "other U.S." and "off continent" are not mutually exclusive.
  9. I think that's the same idea with thermofits for ski boots nowadays...?
  10. This is a thread about Forbidden, no? Pardon me if my question is unknowingly ridiculous... it just looks good in the photos.
  11. Well, obviously something that would no doubt kill me... like snowboarding K2 or something what's the diff?
  12. What does the South Face have to offer? Guess it's time to go buy the Becky Guide...
  13. You may have already done this, but if you want to look at more places then check out the Echo, Bellingham's free classifieds. You can also go to the Food Co-op and look at the ad boards there. That is, if you're a damn dirty Hippie!! (just joking... kind of )
  14. Cool cuz between us swaterfall and I, I think we have two full sets of stoppers and like 3 cams. Now if it would only stop raining...
  15. What do you expect from the angst capital of the continent? The dudes make whiny/screamy tunes and the chicks are the only thing preventing the polar icecaps from melting.
  16. We didn't see anybody on Sunday except for the other people at High Camp that bailed before us. We were the last to leave. Of course, we didn't see anything but High Camp on Sunday so who knows.
  17. you got me dude. Thanks for cruising to Mt Erie last week. Maybe next time we'll do more climbing and less bush-wacking. Speaking of Mt. Erie, can anyone here suggest a good multipitch on the East Buttress in the range of 5.6 to 5.9 that can be protected mostly by stoppers?
  18. I'm guessing you're a poverty-stricken bitter little pussy? That's about the lamest post I've ever seen on here. Nevermind---I thought you were serious. That obviously was a joke. haha! What? You think I'm funny? Does my poverty-stricken badassness amuse you? DOES IT!? And what's wrong with bitter little pussy anyway... no, really, I'm joking. You had to be there. Cracked was. Cracked is always on point. Or rather, on-line.
  19. That's very special...
  20. I wont speak for JoshK but when I climbed/glissaded Ruth last summer it was pretty much a snowfield, with a couple of pretty-looking but easily avoidable crevasses just to remind you that you are on a glacier. That was August 8th. There are a few pictures on my web site, under "Ruth Mountain" (of course): http://www.neolectric.com/~justin/NWframe.html
  21. RodChester, Were you the party we saw at the Hogsback on Sunday, and followed back down to the trailhead? If so, hello. We were the party of two who were camped on the Roosevelt at about 7300'. Hey, I think we saw you guys out there on the Coleman Glacier. What were you going to climb? This is getting funny--cc.com Mt. Baker takeover.
  22. Yeah I was digging a snow cave to satisfy my anxiousness to do the damn climb. We tried to wait out the weather but we finally bailed at 10 AM as the visibility went from bad to ridiculous and it started drizzling again. Hey maybe you are the guy with whom I had a short conversation?
  23. Hey Rodchester, were you at High Camp (7000')? We were the splitboarders. I strongly advise heading up behind the toilets and up the gullies for the approach instead of following the trail, that is, unless you lack floatation. It is an ideal skinning route and also rocks on the descent.
  24. Three of us, on splitboards, bivied there Sat night at 7000', and got rained on for several hours. That run down the gullies from 6500' was however still sweet despite the crap weather. So you gonna buy a split now? I'll split with ya.
  25. Jeez sounds better than Baker--it rained steadily beginning at 2 AM Sunday morning and we finally bailed from the 7000' bivy at 10 AM having not seen anything outside of a 50 foot radius since crashing the previous night. We definitely should have just day-tripped it Sat instead. We are however claiming the springtime record for longest time spent by splitboarders in bivies at Baker High Camp.
