  1. I got a pair of these at the Northface sale, and they are by far the stiffest boots I have ever owned. I have used them on a couple trips, and they have great support and are nice an toasty warm. I wore them up to Mailbox peak to break them in, and instead I think my feet were broken into the boot! I would just wear them on snow, and skip breaking them in on a steep non-snow hike if I did it again. I haven't had any problems like fern mentions, but it doesn't surprise me. The soles don't flex at all...so more likely they would crack.

  2. Dru,

Can we trust you to resolve this issue?

[qoute]"It's very educational," Jon said. "I have yet to meet a person who is rude; everybody is so friendly." [/qoute]

  3. Grab a stopwatch. Mark the time you spend per day on this thread in a fat-ass chair belay. Multiply the time spent here dissing Annabelle by the diagonal measurement of your monitor. Divide by your sperm count. Multiply the resultant by the number of times you acutally left the house over the last two months while Annabelle climbed Everest. Go to a fast food restaurant and order that many cheeseburgers. Eat 'em up. Now call yourself a "Cascade Climber."
Annabelle? Is that you? I am so sorry. It won't happen again. Like I said earlier, congrats on your amazing achievement.
  4. what movie are you talking about????

    please let me know asap.

oh man. she is so hot. shit. there's never gonna be anyone but her for me. she definately has to die.

Are you the same guy they arrested who was stalking Avril Lavigne? yellaf.gif

  5. Well, we know that certain chemical weapons were there for sure at some point (I believe the US helped Iraq develop this capablity)...and Iraq used them against Iran. My guess is that if there still are more than trace amounts, they are buried somewhere...and no house-to-house search is going to turn them up. I sure as hell hope they don't turn up! (...and not for any political reasons either)

  6. I saw plenty of stories about the sarin, and no down playing...did I miss something there? The mustard gas, on the other hand, I had not heard of. A search on google news comes up with some stories in obscure news papers about a trace amount found in a shell in Baghdad earlier this month.

  7. I just saw the footage of the chinook rescue on King 5 TV. The litter dangled from one end rather than being hung from a bridle. Is that normal procedure?
Ya, I sure hope that was just a sleeping bag whipping around that near the upper part of the litter...
