  1. Dammit. Hoodoo is an eyesore. "We don't need no water let the motherfucker burn, burn motherfucker, burn!"
  2. All of the above. Except 'spiritual'.
  3. What a load of bullshit. The Mounties do not advocate hiking up Si in plastics. They do define as being in shape enough for the course as being able to hike up Mt. Si with a full daypack in 2:15. The Mounties also insist in their course docs, "Plastic boots are great for glacier climbs, but not suitable as your only climbing footwear. " A good climb leader for the Mounties will recommend students *not* to wear plastics on climbs like Eldorado. This thread just sucks by now. Do what you want. BTW, GY, trolling you is so easy that it's boring.
  4. Again, I'd like to see you lead real 5.9 in the mountains in big boots. I'll even time you! And this is why Mounties wear plastics on Si? To 'practice'? I am comfortable in boots on rock, but no matter how comfortable you are, you WILL be faster on rock wearing rock shoes. I can see that you might climb easier routes in boots to get used to climbing is clodhoppers, but this doesn't make sense when it comes to basic mounties who would flail no matter what footwear they've got on. But why make it more difficult if it is already difficult? I'm beginning to see why I find you so annoying.
  5. aH BITE ME I'll take you up on that....
  6. Besides, any 'mixed climb' with rock up to 5.9 would not be considered 'moderate', at least not around here. In chamonix maybe.
  7. That's stupid. The mounties have trained you well. It is easier/safer/more efficient to wear rock shoes on technical terrain, even though you have to pack the boots. Besides, on pretty much any pitch harder than 5.5 or so in the mountains, rock shoes will make you climb so much faster. If there's no need for boots, why wear em?
  8. YOU ARE ALL ANGRY HIPPIES. BUT IT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT YOU ARE IMPOTENT!
  9. j_b, I would like to see you lead both Gendarme pitches of NR Stuart in Sportiva Nepal Extremes.
  10. You'll make a good climber someday, Dryad.
  11. You mean BeckFest?
  12. No, the point is, you don't need boots on the tooth in summer. All you need is sneakers and a pair of rock shoes.
  13. Here, for example.

    Why?

It's starting to sound like a group of surfers, or ffishers, or skiiers...... Telemarkers, even!
  15. Two hours and twentyone minutes.
  16. Yeah, Petey!
  17. I think you are taking this too far. I doubt that an article like that is going to put cyclists in greater danger than they would otherwise be in.
  18. No, I think most people here support the Mountaineer Press.
  19. I wanna see that! does that mean muffy has?
  20. He probably did it on purpose. Mixing metaphors is standard wit fare for some people. He didn't actually "lose" the election, as they didn't count all the ballots in Florida. The election was rigged. Prove it. Both sides cheated, I seem to remember several dead people voting for Gore. Get over it.
  21. Jon, what's your point? Ken's bitching about unsafe bikers. He says verbatim (or almost, as I don't need to read the article again) "there are plenty safe cyclists out there, but too many unsafe ones". Didn't you read the article?
  22. Depends if I want to present a decent argument. If the person I'm arguing against is boring, dull, or stupid, I tend to spray more than debate. Check the bike laws thread for examples.

    Why?

Why did you start spraying? What made you want to try it? I have heard the "average sprayer" (90% of those who try it once) only spray for a few years before moving on to another sport. If you have been spraying for 3 yrs +, why did you stay with spraying? Did you start with another outdoor sport and switch to spraying, or did you start with spraying and stay with it?
