  1. Lacing the mythos is a pain but not too bad. just get 2 paper clips and fashion one as a little hook and the other straigt to push. also you might want to spend a few minutes to understand how they are actually laced up before you take them apart.
  2. It is that time of year again, set yourself up for next winter with some free membership by volunteering to belay groups and individuals. All the above details still apply.
  3. anyone head up to rattletale on sunday? how did you like that stylin' trail? congrats to dcramer for organizing this whole thing.
  4. i found a partner but you guys should try to meet up.
  5. index on sunday. was out there today doing the work party and it was nice and dry. anyone interested PM. also would be willing to hit up north bend.
  6. afternoon/after work climbing? i could go thursday somtime after 1-2pm, could go to index or north bend, depending when we leave. more fun than going to the gym.
  7. the place with the waterslides seems to be ok and cheap. we stayed at a pay place just south of town along the water, it was nice. seems like the pay places are the way to go unless you like that commute.
  8. Just printed out my letters. I'll have to convince a few other slackers i know to do the same, espcially since in only took a minute. nice job writing those things up matt.
  9. weather says afternoon t-showers but the morning looks ok. anyone up for a little sport at x32. i also want to go to index but the prospect of rain dampens my enthusiasm for the drive. post or PM.

    Ingalls

it is a little snowy and wet right now. if the weather clears up could be ok.
  11. i got to climb at the UW gym last weekend. i thought it was really fun. the freeform wall was cool but i could see it being hard to make new routes much different. i really liked the panel wall, nice bulges and some nice edges and smears. if i could get in there easier it would be a great place to train.
  12. I heard that the forest service has deemed the road not safe and in need of repair. when will repair happen? who knows but it may not be this summer. hopefully we can do something to generate some support, you know any congress men or women?, and encourage the FS to open the road back up. i really wanted to do dreamer this summer, 5 miles of biking will just add to the challange.

    Gotama

Ebay has some good deals on them, especially if you want the marker bindings. http://search.ebay.com/volkl-gotama_W0QQ...ntrypageZsearch
  14. what sobo said, get the new guide book. i think there about 20 different areas in the tieton river valley, trad sport multi-pitch. i usually pick a place and climb there for the day. royal columns is the most popular. i have heard that lava point has the best sport climbing, but have yet to go.
  15. 2005 season started months ago, what have you been doing?
  16. i checked out my house. it is really cool, i am not sure how much use the sat photos really are, except to attract people who think they are cool.
  17. that is cool of snoqualmie. i don't know what you expect of these other places. they probably lost millions this year already, are they supposed to lose more next year before the season even starts? besides all of you know that you will be frothing at the mouth as soon as it starts snowing next year. seriously, the thought of all that powder, you'll probably be thanking these same jackasses for just staying in business. i am already fired up for a few good days.
  18. If you can reach it it's in, vantage is not the gym after all, or i guess it is kind of like the gym, so in that case stop cheating.
  19. i will second chucK, that bolt on city park p2 is not necessary, probably the most constructive thing that could be done is to remove it. as for GM we were just wondering about that last weekend, it probably has some strength to it. hopefully the bottom anchor would prevent you from hitting the ground if it pulled, but maybe not
  20. index, mt.erie, little si? mt erie faces south, although if it is like today it will stay foggy near the sound all day. index could be somewhat warm when the LTW is in the morning sun. clip some bolts at x32?
  21. Anyone going to NYC? might want to check out this art exihibit in central park http://www.christojeanneclaude.net/tg.html it is only going to be up until the end of the month. I heard this exhibit cost $21 mil. where do these guys come up with the money for this stuff. my favorite picture is from another piece of art they created why i don't really know, guess it is something about the ridiculous
  22. mythos are my favorites. i got a pair of la sportiva megas for alpine/long climbs, i find the mythos a little too soft for a long day of crack climbing. resoling works great. the only thing is you need to do it before you damage the leather.
  23. Doesn't he just buy all the other guide books and use them as a "template" for the info in his book? I am not a big fan of the book but it is nice to have some info about places that do not have their own guide. I still promote the locals guides.
  24. all i know about that winter is that the north cascade highway never closed, so it must have been horrible
  25. it looks like it will be ok, a little on the cool side but nice when you are climbing. i wish i could go.
