  1. Good God, voodoo, can't you resize those pics? I'm on a LAN and it still takes half an hour to download em!

    Donald Rumsfeld...

What's that web of lies got to do with the mistreatment of prisoners in Iraq? As far as I can tell, NOTHING.

    Donald Rumsfeld...

Interesting link, j_b, but what makes me suspicious is the 'reportedly' statements. Any moron can write anything he wants with such a disclaimer in front of it. If true, that's horrible, and Rumsfeld should be thrown into jail, but I find it hard to imagine that a guy smart enough to get into the position that he's in would be stupid enough to authorize or, worse, order this kind of treatment. Those involved in politics tend not to undermine themselves, that's their enemies' jobs. Edit: Martlet beat me to it.

Martlet, you're getting on my nerves. STFU. Minxie, it ain't worth it.
  5. Allison, I think that this is what the young republican preppie piece of shit....is referring to.

    Donald Rumsfeld...

I'm just an uneducated young moron, but blaming Rumsfeld for the torture/humiliation is like blaming Bush if your box is lost by the postal service. In both scenarios the people lowest on the ladder fucked up, yet you blame the people at the top. Now, blaming him for not apologizing enough, or for not parading the abuse around, is something else. But saying that he is responsible for the abuse and should resign strikes me as silly.

    Um, no.

Martlet, I tend to agree with your opinions, but that doesn't change the fact that you're lacking in communication skills. Juvenile insults in EVERY SINGLE POST gets old kinda fast. So chill out. Thanks.
  9. Whatever, Jason, you're a skinny bastard. Nice work, guys, looks like fun.

    Donald Rumsfeld...

It's intelligent, reasonable, convincing posts like this that make me want to vote for Kerry.
  11. I just wanna be like Andy Kirkpatrick!
  12. I dunno about that, Skeezix. They will hate us no matter what, even if 'only' on a basis of religion. Their hate isn't rational, it won't go away. They are convinced that America is evil no matter what we do. And in such a situation, what can you do? All you can do is instill enough fear in them that they won't attack you.
  13. Yeah, that thing is hilarious!
  14. You can always slice useless/extraneous features off a pack, though. The only time I've used/needed a frame is when carrying skis and boots on the pack. The external 25 lbs compresses the pack too much otherwise.
  15. Torturing s should be a crime.
  16. Quit putting me down and I'll quit putting you down.
  17. Whatever, man, just keep taking those phycoligy classes. I suspect that parents and 'relitives' have an influence on their loved ones, schizophrenic or not. So what you're really saying is "people influence other people". Thanks for the heads-up, Sherlock, I'll try to remember that. First off, I'm not sure whether you meant that if I were smart, I'd take 'phycoligy' (not offered at UW, I checked) classes, or if I were smart, I would draw some conclusion from said classes. Either way, your tenuous argument is based on the idea of peoples' actions being manipulated by external influences. As such, it is, directly or indirectly, in opposition to my suggestion that the soldiers in question could have been acting sans influence. Consequently, you were arguing against me, not "mearly making a coment about people ingeneral", whatever you mean by that. As your posts are nearly unreadable, demonstrated by the above ambiguity, please inform me if I somehow misinterpreted one of 'ur' cryptic phrases and my opinion require elucidation. And you say that MY head is up my ass?
  18. Approach skis are an option too. drC A friend of mine had em, used em twice, got a split, sold the skis. Go figure.

  20. No fixed belay anchors, if I remember correctly. Or maybe a few fixed rusty pins at the top of the second pitch? Loose, pretty steep, spicy, it's the scariest 5.6 I've ever done. We nearly go hit by some rocks trundled by some idiot on the West Ridge, not cool. Downclimb the N. Ridge.
  21. why did they take those pictures?

    Chair Peak

Difficulty depends on the conditions, but they're both pretty moderate, and fun! Gear also depends on conditions, but it's hard to go wrong with four screws and a small rock rack. Take a few pins.
  23. I haven't used either pack, but when I fondled them in the store, my initial impression what that the new buckles are useless. I had trouble rebuckling them in the store, with bare hands. If I bought on of those packs, the first thing I'd do would be to slice them off, and get a normal fastex buckle on there, extended by a bit of webbing. I'm fond of my frameless pack. If I were to buy something to replace it I'd get the Wild Things Icesac.
