another note, you have to LOGIN to post or reply to messages. the board has new cookies, so your old auto login won't work. though when you login the first time, you can set your cookie to REMEMBER ME, so you don't have to do it everytime. for those of you that have multiple avatars, these cookies can become a hassle on this new software. but i guess thats a good thing.

i think its also cuz i told people the site would be down the entire weekend. maybe people are hanging out with their families, orrrr, maybe people are outsied!

idea: why don't all the chatters get ICQ, or I'm sure you already have it. add your ICQ number to your profile, and then you can add 'online buddies' in your profile, and see who's online and chat! OH BOY!!!! We do have an IM client on the server here where we could setup some chat stuff. If i'm bribed with enough beer i might do it. -t

Hello everybody and welcome back to good ol cc.com The upgrade went rather smoothly, but I wanted to point out a few new things, and some ways to give some feedback on the new design/fucntionality/bugs. What's New This new version of our bbs system is run off a mysql/php backend which means no more .cgi 700 internal server errors, and we hope it will speed up performance a bit. On top of that, some of the new features are: Preview Post File Attachments Enhanced Who's Online New MY HOME page instead of Profile Faster Search Forum Subscriptions Thread Favorites/Bookmarks User Controlled Skins (colors,fonts) nice marketing fluff eh? Old Content All of the old user accounts/content/pm's have been transfered over to the site. There were a few bugs, please see the Bug reporting section for more info. More Information Click here for a document about the new board software features and how to use them. In the upcoming weeks, I hope to add in a better integrated photo gallery, and a few other features. Bugs and other Oddities Please read this thread for common issues/resolutions with the new software, and reply to that thread with any new bugs. its amazing, you tell people that the boards will be closed and everyone go bye bye, anybody else got inlaws in town for the weekend. its amazing how having my inlaws here has inspired me to work on the website time for another

oops, the rating thing will be disabled in the next release as well, so until then we'll have to deal with it. i remember last time it was enabled it was a free for all, but oh well.

Thanks for the comments, If people would like I can bring the old smilies and post icons back, I might just do that so it would look more familiar to most. the signature thing will be fixed in the next release of the software, still a few weeks out. until then you can change this by adding some ubb code to your sig to make it italicized and possibly put some ---- or ***** above it to seperate it from your post

OK, so the board migration went fairly well. I know of a few things that didn't come over at all, namely private messages sent to or from scot'teryx didn't get imported because the ' in his user name [censored] up my pm import script, damned cougars. Anyhow, a few tips that might fix some problems: Logging In Issues if you had a public and a private username on the last board, eg I was privately registered as tim but my public name is gapertimmy, try logging in with your old public name, and your old private name if you are having issues getting on. Old ubb code The old bb code still works here, but old image tags [image ] [/ image] won't show up properly, but will work on future posts. Sorry about that, but its just one of those things! Posting Issues/Firewalls There is some built in features to the board to prevent spam bots from posting batches of messages. Trask and I discovered this was preventing users with personal firewall software from posting new threads. This has since been fixed. I'll add on more common mishaps as they become present.
