thanks i'll have to read the actual studies before i take any of this too seriously. are you and trask getting on the same black helicopter together?
-
try this hey trask, ya got your boarding pass for the black helicopters yet?
-
prolly a waste of time, but do you have any links for that info?
-
shoot! people! i'm not stressed out about it. mildly annoyed. if someone had a simple clever idea, i thought it'd be worth a shot. sheesh! you're makin more out of it than i meant i figured this group would be perfect for answering a simple question.
-
ummm, sugar, i believe if i have not mentioned specificly it was certainly implied that i have tried the polite approach. i've asked nicely, i've turned off the phones, etc. point being it continues to happen. it was a long shot but i thought some of the cc.com wankers might have some creative ideas. so now you can kindly stfu and go away

thanks! i've got no studs so i can put them on soon

dumb quesiton: when are snow tires legal in WA?
-
there was snow just a few feet up the hill from my place today
-
of course it makes it stop ringing. the point is that this happens day after day. i really don't think it should be necessary that i go around and turn off people's phone's each day. apparently, being subtle isn't working. i was hoping for some humorous, creative suggestions that might make the point a little more strongly. the next one is going under the plunger!
-
could you give me the ones of your speed dial? i don't know any 900 numbers actually that would be pretty funny. marylou the point was that i have tried subtle and polite options. it's not working. and really, who needs to hear the william tell overture performed by a cell phone ringer?!?!
-
"hi, bob's phone" "oh hi mrs. bob, no bob's not here right now" "what? where is he? he and amber went to lunch" "yeah it is almost 4. gee they have been gone a while" "yeah, they do seem to spend a lot of lunches together" "have a nice day mrs. bob"
-
i think that's the best advice so far. wish i could follow it
-
my goodness, thanks so much for the helpful advice i can easily ignore the normal phones. the cell phones w/ringers set on super load going off at 5 min intervals when i'm trying to focus on something other than cc.com aren't annoying they're painfully disruptive. hard to do some tasks when you're distracted. but again, thanks for the the thoughtful input

the same 3 people bring their cell phones to work, leave them on there desk in the cube farm, set the ringers to obnoxious and then go to the lab. countless times a day those phones ring w/o being answered. what would you do? i've politely mentioned and shoving them up the asses of the respective owners seem like it might cause a rift with my coworkers. any creative ideas?

trask there is soooooooooooo little good about TV.
-
PP- i'll be happy to write that dissertation later. right now i have to go fix something at work and then fetch a sick kid. the long and short of it is that i'm not a big fan of trickle down economics.

RR in the late 60s early 70s. Guess i'm just not a fan of the actor turned governor of CA, that's all
-
damn it! i retract my clause. trask is a big man
-
trask, check your facts. i do believe that i stated 1906...which by my way of thinking came prior to 1907 and michelson's nobel prize for physics.
-
that was the thinking nikki sixx had when he suggested 'christmas' as the name for the band he was forming. vince said 'Mötley Crüe' and the rest is history. btw those dudes breed like irish on holiday. whats that doing to the gene pool? i've always thought that a little chlorine in the gene pool would be a good thing!
-
i also think spelling is cool actually i just think no quality pass is the best i'm going to do...for now.
-
come to think of it they could've elected a chimp and i would be non-plussed. wait they already tried that in the 70s. as stated earlier CA is not the center of the universe and i'm tired of hearing about it. when they figure out some creative ways to solve their economic probs then i'll be interested. sure davis was a fool and probably deserved to be recalled. i guess i'm just cynical when it comes to politics. i don't see it as anything other than politcs as usual that CA elected an entertainer (?) as governor. it's not the first time and name recognition will get you a lot of votes.
-
a pro-choice republican who also supports gay couple adoption getting voted in during the first-ever governorship recall election is 'same as always'? nice to see a republican not toeing the party line but come on. he's one guy who is going to have to wrassle w/the CA legislature. it's interesting but in the end it's just more politicians making deals. nothing new.
-
trask, the only thing different about this than the usual election process is that people of CA woke up, took the beer goggles off, and chewed off their arm to escape. regardless of the shape it took (recall) they've swapped one politician for another. maybe arnold will do a better job than davis but it's all politics. no matter what he does someone is going to be pissed.
