you can't drive 6+ hours in a tundra with 4 people. I hear what you truck guys are sayin, but the 'family of 4' means an suv is my best bet.

Okay, it's time to trade in the old Suburban and get something new. Problem is, I want the best of all worlds: 1) An SUV with enough clearance and oomph to get me up knarly roads, etc. 2) A decent ride at 65 mph on the highway, and room for family of 4. 3) Can't cost as much as the Suburban does!! Who's done this evaluation recently? I don't want anything small---I'd say the 4runner is as small as I'd want to go.

Headphones suggestion for running? Don't use 'em! My thinking is based on 1) I'm damn near deaf from loud music, halfway through my life, and why make it worse 2) I can 'play music' in my head, and pace it precisely to my stride (and I think headphone music can mess w/ your pace) 3) Wearing headphones increases your risk of getting hit by a car/attacked by cougars/etc.

In a fit of fiscal irresponsibility last month, I bought some heat-shaped footbeds while skiing in Austria. They did super in the downhill boots, and seriously I think they made me ski a notch better. I put the footbeds in my climbing boots and they also feel 100% better.
