What's the best 'musical scene' in your head? Every trip, climb, etc. has a set of associated music that was going on, over & over in yr head...some of my best musical memories are because the trip was great, but sometimes the 'background music' made the trip great. My favorite: VW beetle, smoke inside...Neil Young's Like a Hurricane comes on the radio... Then me & my bud surf a head-high break all alone for a good 2 hours before anyone else discovers the waves.

Not old-school...I started lurking just in time to catch wind of the Muir Hut incident...that and other endless and funny spray, coupled with good TRs and info kept me lurking along for months...until I decided to go legit and register.

Okay, sorry I missed the mention, but unfortunately do not have time to read everything on the board. However, I know that you know what I'm talkin' about...new avatars like Captain Cock and crap like that. If someone cooks up a new alias once-in-awhile it can be clever. Recently it seems there's been a flood and a lot of people have been reinventing themselves.

Also, I know most people on this site won't admit to going to REI, but the flagship store in Denver has a large guidebook section and map department.

For scrambles you might pick up one of the Gerry Roach books (Colorado 14ers, etc.). Used it this summer, it was accurate, had a blast.

Is it the change of seasons that is causing a massive change in avatars? Or am I overly suspicious...it's just that I have a hard time believing that there are so many clearly experienced climbers posting for only the 6th or 8th time on this board. BSer's rant style sounds familiar, and Neversummer "between a cougar & a tiger" knows too much... Everybody take off your masks!

Dwayner & ScottP, Doesn't the irreverent, humorous tenor of cc.com fit the broad climbing community as a whole? I get tips and ideas, and I get a chuckle or two. I know what you guys are saying, (anonymity has its effect) but the board is set up the way it is, so I enjoy it for what it is!
