  8. The fur trapper was pretty fucked up. He had just been stomped upon and recited to by the entire contents of this audience. And you know what that can do to a guy who is wearing a parka. So he gets up, looks around, looks around again, and looks around again. And then he says. And you can sing along if you know the words. I cant see. I cant see. I cant see. I cant see. He took a dog doo snow cone and stuffed it in my right eye. He took a dog doo snow cone and stuffed in my other eye. And the huskey wee wee, I mean the doogie wee wee has blinded me. Great googlie mooglie. I cant see, temporarily.
  9. I did the traverse in the first week september 2001. Glacier route finding was that much of a problem except getting onto the Le Conte Glacier. There was a 20 foot vertical ice step above a chasm which was necessary to gain the glacier. We luckily brought a tool with us, so that wasnt a big problem, but it would have sucked without it.
  10. that sucks , i was hoping this weekend

  23. On the ridge you cross over to get access to the eldorado glacier, I came across a mesh bag of climbing gear this past weekend. It contained a harness, i think a black diamond bod, i am not sure as my friend has it, a few old biners, a red sling, and some purple/blue prussiks. the bag looked like it had been chewed a little bit by marmots. if this is anyones, let me know.

  25. quote: Originally posted by danielpatricksmith: The fellows we met were nice and friendly, but that does not change the fact that the first words spoken on the subject were "Its not in shape." Had he said something like, "I hear its real thin" or "my friend had a look and backed off", that would have been a much different statement. Making a statment as strong as 'its not in condition' says more about the climber than the route, something I always keep in mind. I am glad your friends enjoyed the east ridge, it was a fabulous weekend to be in the mountains. Hey dan, I didnt even know that my friend posted this before I had a chance to read your report. Great job on the route, and it was a super weekend to be in the mountains. I just wanted to say that I thought i said that "I heard that the route was not in shape" and after i said that, i thought that maybe i shouldnt have said anything and then i continued to say that a friend of a friend went up there and told my other friend that it wasnt in shape. Maybe it wasnt in shape or maybe it was and he didnt like it or maybe it got better with all this cold weather we have been having. I do hate when people tell me that i cant do a certain climb and that wasnt the point i was trying to get across. enjoy, joshua
