  14. On the ridge you cross over to get access to the eldorado glacier, I came across a mesh bag of climbing gear this past weekend. It contained a harness, i think a black diamond bod, i am not sure as my friend has it, a few old biners, a red sling, and some purple/blue prussiks. the bag looked like it had been chewed a little bit by marmots. if this is anyones, let me know.

  16. quote: Originally posted by danielpatricksmith: The fellows we met were nice and friendly, but that does not change the fact that the first words spoken on the subject were "Its not in shape." Had he said something like, "I hear its real thin" or "my friend had a look and backed off", that would have been a much different statement. Making a statment as strong as 'its not in condition' says more about the climber than the route, something I always keep in mind. I am glad your friends enjoyed the east ridge, it was a fabulous weekend to be in the mountains. Hey dan, I didnt even know that my friend posted this before I had a chance to read your report. Great job on the route, and it was a super weekend to be in the mountains. I just wanted to say that I thought i said that "I heard that the route was not in shape" and after i said that, i thought that maybe i shouldnt have said anything and then i continued to say that a friend of a friend went up there and told my other friend that it wasnt in shape. Maybe it wasnt in shape or maybe it was and he didnt like it or maybe it got better with all this cold weather we have been having. I do hate when people tell me that i cant do a certain climb and that wasnt the point i was trying to get across. enjoy, joshua
  17. Peak bagging was at first important, but now it doesnt mean anything to me. If I go up an easy route, I do it for the views, relaxation in the mountains, photography, not to tick a peak.
  18. Hey, I want to get rid of my telemark gear and get some randonnee. Does anybody have any opinions about bindings: fritschi diamir, dynafit, silveretta also on boots: scarpa lazer or others? thanks Josh
  19. Sorry Vegetable, I didnt mean to piss you off,but my roomate split on me and i am paying both rents to live here and i cant afford it so i am desperately trying to get somebody in here. josh

  22. Boston Basin all the way. Much faster then Sahale Arm. There are cool cracks to look at also. There is this one freakin crack that is so big and deep, i thought it was a nice plateau to take a break. i ran up to it and it was this freakin big ass crack. also much more beautiful to be at the boston-sahale col and more fun of a climb from down there.

  24. Frostbite ridge is a very fun climb. Jim Nelson rates it a grade III, but I disagree. I did it about 3 weeks ago. There was some ice below the rabbit ears and we ran into 50-60 degree ice before the summit. A tool and screws were useful and fun. That was the only time the rope was used. We descended the Sitkum in a complete witeout and only saw 1 crevasse and it was pretty small. I agree, that is a boring snow walk and the upper part doesnt even have snow, there is a path through dirt for 1000 feet.
