  1. Peak bagging was at first important, but now it doesnt mean anything to me. If I go up an easy route, I do it for the views, relaxation in the mountains, photography, not to tick a peak.
  2. Hey, I want to get rid of my telemark gear and get some randonnee. Does anybody have any opinions about bindings: fritschi diamir, dynafit, silveretta also on boots: scarpa lazer or others? thanks Josh

  6. Boston Basin all the way. Much faster then Sahale Arm. There are cool cracks to look at also. There is this one freakin crack that is so big and deep, i thought it was a nice plateau to take a break. i ran up to it and it was this freakin big ass crack. also much more beautiful to be at the boston-sahale col and more fun of a climb from down there.

  8. Frostbite ridge is a very fun climb. Jim Nelson rates it a grade III, but I disagree. I did it about 3 weeks ago. There was some ice below the rabbit ears and we ran into 50-60 degree ice before the summit. A tool and screws were useful and fun. That was the only time the rope was used. We descended the Sitkum in a complete witeout and only saw 1 crevasse and it was pretty small. I agree, that is a boring snow walk and the upper part doesnt even have snow, there is a path through dirt for 1000 feet.

  10. Any recommendations for a day trip to Rainier where there are the most wildflowers growing? Thanks.
  11. savaiusini: Can you please post the conditions for skiing the n.f. of observation rock. I am thinking of doing it this week or weekend. Thanks.
  12. Has anyone been up either of these two routes lately? If so, how is the snow/ice like?
  13. Skied off the summit about 2 weeks ago. It was great. We got to the top pretty late, around 3pm and found skiable slush down the roman wall and deming glacier. The parties we were passing on our way up reported icy conditions on the roman wall. We didnt have to take off our skiis once.
