  4. ok so i have a question...... i agree that ski/trekking poles would be great on the steep decents... my thing is that i would go down full mogual ski style, so do the expandable poles hold weight like a ski pole? all i would need is for that thing to collapse and break my other freaking arm! any thoughts?
  5. yeah - that wasn't very nice..........
  6. how about ski poles as lawn darts.......? ohh man this is a proud day! i am now a "cheif wanker" my momma will be so proud. [ 09-19-2002, 09:40 AM: Message edited by: krazy 1 ]
  7. i went to a climbing conditioning seminar once, pretty much right off the bat one of the two instructors asked everyone that used trekking poles to raise their hand. i couldn't since i never use them except for the occasional snowshoe trip. feeling a little outweighted by the number of hands by these joyful people who use them, i just sat there.............. much to my suprise the instructor said "now all of you that raised you hands........ you need better knees". so then he showed us some great excercises for knee strengthening. it was great. so i use ski poles for occational snowshoeing trips - the rest..........not so much - they alway seem to be more of a pain than an aid to those that use them anyway.
  8. quote: erik aaaaawwwwwwwww pooo baby..... ya know just when ya think ya know a guy... yeah a walker would come in handy ........to beat you with! and thanks mr jones....... i only take the best.
  9. all i know is that climbing should suck for everyone right now, at least for the remaining 3 - 4 weeks that i'm in this freaking cast. word for the rest of season: chossy
  10. ohhhhh yeeeeeeaha! i'm gonna try that.
  11. slabbin!......... if you catch the right angle you could probably walk up it sweet! - the way i figure, my arm is probably better protected in a hard cast than a soft one right?........
  12. update on the bones - definate fracture, not to bad though. ok - once again "this sucks!" went to visit the doc again....... now i have a hard cast for the next 3 weeks. only 3 weeks though - then i have to wear that other smelly one for another week and i'm back in the game!
  13. i've found that taking an herb by Nature's Sunshine called EverFlex - totally helps with sticky knuckles. i'm usually fine until the next mornin - but this stuff really helps. if you can't find any let me know and i'll can get you some.
  14. that is a great sudggestion - does anyone know if VW seattle has a stationary bike......? i go there sometimes in the winter but haven't paid much attention to the weight type area. if anyone knows..... what else they got?
  15. say you know that's a thought! and i could pull one of those edward scissorhands kinda deals. that will be a bitch when i put my contacts in - but HEY no down time if there was ice!
  16. at least he's not breaking your arm, i'm tell yah i be knowin all about that!
  17. ALRIGHT ALREADY...... (heehee) so i won't go climbing. i'm going to be needing a searious fix when i'm done doing my time. THIS SUPER SUX! how did it happen you ask? mt. adams, one of those early-mornin retreats, slipped in da dirt, just a nasty catch on a da nice typical lava chunks of crap up there. didn't even know i broke it till 5 days later. i think i deserve some climb/credit points for the high pain tolerence. humm? humm?
  18. yeah i could probably try top roping something easy... but i know i won't stop there. i guess i'll just have to go with sk's idea of chasing cute boys! then i can make them mow my lawn, wash my truck and do some laundy. hee hee
  19. this sucks! i just went to the doc yesterday, turns out i cracked on of the bones in my arm. i'm out of climbing pretty much for the next 6 - 8 weeks. question is; have any of you luvlies broken an arm, and what did you do so as not to loose those precious climbing muscles and not get desk ass. nintendo was already sudggested. is there any others?
  20. quote: AA i'll share this as it might amuse some of you guys: did you know that some girls duct tape their boobs together for better cleavage?!! i knew of some girls a long time ago in high school that did it for prom dresses and shit... ok i'll admit i had to do that once for a wedding i was in, holy cow was that binding or what! and when you go to take it off...... yeah. it does prove to be a good source of support, but needless to say i won't be doing that again soon.
