that was along the lines of my next comment. if we have to pay a licensing fee to climb i think the people that eat at Macdonald's should have to pay a licensing fee just in case they have a heart attack.

point taken... however we all also knew the levies in New Orleans were going to break eventually. that was predicted as well. however, people still chose to live there.

we pay the military no matter what they are doing. I am under the impression that the majority of folks up there looking are volunteers, people who climb as a hobbie and out of passion. these are the same folks that will haul joe schmoe off the lower part of the mountain if he or she hikes to far or gets lost. I too would be interested in seeing what this really cost VS how much it cost the news and tv people to report misinformation. i am sure that this rescue cost a minuscule amount of money compared to how much Rosie O'Donnell gets paid to share her "opinion" on tv.

i hang my head in shame, it is true, i am a noob. i will be quite for the rest of the day. i wasn't teasing... i was pointing out that snoboy tagged me :)he made me TUFFGRL and i love him so confused, i am making my way over to cafe sensitivo! don't worry i am tougher than that, but not too tough. the tuff still makes my fingers tingle after a couple days of climbing... I LOVE THE TUFF

i wanted to let you all know i found the Yocum ridge TR i was talking about. it isn't hard to find. there are really good pictures of what it looks like when you are climbing and a well written trip report about an a climb. for those of you who don't know much about climbing but are interested you can go to the trip reports link. type in yocum ridge. the climb was in Feb of '04 and the author is Texplorer. and yes i am his #2 fan.
