Oh I've been in all sorts of life threatening situations, some that made my hair curl (it used to be straight). But, I do know this much, it is never just one thing that goes wrong, it is always multiple things converging to what looks like an inevitable conclusion. Thus, my philosophy is to always have a multiple back up system now, or, if you want to call it that, decision tree. But like you said, we do have to accept what we can't change. I suspect their worse case scenario was having to spend the night in one of the huts higher up on the mountain, then coming down the next day. But, they couldn't find their way there for whatever reason. check it out... this could become a "threatening situation"

I am from and still live in Eugene. although bend area feels like home. I go there to play as often as i can. I however do not drive in snow. because i am a big baby and hate it. come spring i love it over there and i owe two of my favorite bend residents a visit because i promised all year last year and never made it because i suck so bad

you start feeling high but it isn't a hallucinogen high. it's just the speed. I stopped dropping when it felt too much like doing meth. I figured if i was going to do speed i would go to the source. that was the most wasted 6 months of my life. btw, i had so many awsome trips i can't even begin to pick the best. good times. Although i did come up with a particularly memorable trip. I was 16 i think it was 1988. I drove a 1966 plymoth valiant (total party car) I picked up one of my best girlfriends T and the two guys we hung out with at the time. We drove to Kirk park and set up a tent. It started to rain. We had sleeping bags and a boom box and we had so much fun. Every time i looked at T her face was melting off in electric blue. It was so beautiful i couldn't stop looking at her and trying to touch the melty bits. She eventually freaked out because one of the guys with us had full beard. T decided he was a bear and started to totally freak out. I eventually convinced her that he was really Grizzly Adams and it was going to be okay. Later after we went back to T's house and the boys went away we wanted them to come and sneak in the window. That was the night we decided that it isn't really a sexual innuendo, it really SHOULD be a SEXUAL IN YOUR WINDOW Side note, I imprinted with the Grizzly Adams guy that night. We had been friends for a long time. I still dream about him when his life is intense. we hadn't seen each other in 14 years and he contacted my a couple of years ago. E, if someone gave my 8yr old LSD i would have to kill them. i am sorry that happened to you.

if it is not hate you are meaning to express you may want to spend some time evaluating the language you use.

he is trying to point out that despite all of the things you do, you are a pessimist. you know... is the glass half full or half empty? most people all over the world are just trying to eeekk out a life despite what the "world leaders" are doing. count your blessings. it wont make bush go away, only time will do that. but count 'em any way. it will make you smile. the world is not perfect. it gives us something to lend our energy to. think globally, act locally.

sitting around wring our hands and pointing fingers at our fellow earthlings isn't going to solve anything any more than going to war. in your extremism and hopelessness your are making the shame and negativity and hatefulness in the world bigger. it doesn't matter who you are hating. hate is still hate.

this is not the first time nor the last that we have been the bad guys. it isn't the soldiers fault the W is the president. it's all of ours.

I actually come from a military family. It is true that in the line of duty soldiers do kill people. they also topple fascist governments and dispose of crazy people who are trying to take over the world, like hmmmm HITLER. it is an ugly job, and it takes a certain kind of person to be able to do it. I am a failure in my families eyes because i was not brave enough to become a soldier. in any job you do there are risks of doing harm to others. for instance, a man i used to date was asked once to make a decision as far as what was best for the company he works for. making the right decision for his company caused more than a thousand people to lose their jobs. Should he not do that job? should he not do what is right for his company? you existence on this planet is using resources that could be better used in other ways. i suggest you leave now so we can reallocate those resources.

you know i am not a huge fan of war. I think it is a piss pour way to resolve anything. but being a soldier is a job like any other. it pays decent and a person can provide for their family that way. there is certainly nothing LESS honorable about working for the military than there is about working for any other company. why diss on someone for trying to make a good life for their family? so their boss may be an idiot, people may think my boss is an idiot too. that doesn't make me a bad person. i have said it a million times and i will continue to say it. I am so glad there are people who are willing to be in the military, be police officers work for the fire department and haul ass up a mountain to look for lost climbers. i am glad there are people who can and are willing to do that because i am choosing not to.
