  1. Yeah, there was some shit that sloughed off of the cheif, but nothing huge. If it hit you, you would have to be unlucky as hell and likely wouldn't hae made the drive over. fer real, that was some of he funnest climbing i have done in a while! Jump awn it!
  2. We were gonna do the whole squamish buttress, but after seeing how wet and cold it was on calculus crask, we bailed on the ledges. It was pretty desperate in a few places. Especially on the slabs on the top which completely covvered with running water. I imagine it was all frozen solid when we started up as it was cold that night! Fun as hell though.
  3. If you want a red TCU... lemme know.
  4. Squamish was a blast! Hit up some classics and some longish routes. -1C didn't stop us this morning, but when the feet and hands went numb, the going got a little tricky. Damn fun never-the-less. Who's with me to go again? I will pull some pics of exasperator off my DV cam later.
  5. or give me $10 and i'll bring it down to you. (y)
  6. Paul. It really depends. Did you have instant discoloration? or did it come later? If you got frost bite, it could be quasi-permantent, but frost-nip cn do the same thing and will go away. Just be uber-careful man cause you are extremely succeptable now. Have you gotten it checked out? Don't wanna permanently screw that up. Losing a toe would suck, but then again it didn't stop messner.
  7. Back in my day, we called that constructive criticism.
  8. helps beat the clumps out.
  9. thanks... we'll check it out.
  10. Sveiks! Ka tiev iet? Have a great trip kiddo!
  11. what is this about a clif in mission. some guy in the gym that is a 5.12 climber told me. afterwards, i asked what 12 he did and it was zombie roof which he went on to say that he jugged the draws the whole way. i was skeptical when he was getting pumped on the 5.10+ in the gym. the french free photo shoot story made it all clear. If you know about this cliff lemme know. thanks
  12. I believe it was Horkheimer that said something to the effect that "it is naive and bigoted to think and speak only in the language of science" and that it was its own religion and that belied the empirical nature of it. Ironically enough, he was a German 'Marxist' more of the critical tradition of Frankfurt.
  13. any takers? 4*C and sunny till wednesday. Lemme know. Sat.-Sunday is also nice. Can meet someone in Vancouver.
  14. I remember lots of FA's published. I dont know what you kids are whining about. Just cause FreddyB and the like dont post their new routes... big deal. I defy y'all to just climb all the new routes that were posted last year.

  21. Got the Song remains the same on vinyl... 30 minute tracks... double disk. haven't had a party i haven't played it at yet.
  22. and arguably vice-versa
  23. I agree matt, especially with the last situation. I was mired in a grade for a long time until someone (Rudy actually) told me to just jump on something and I nailed it. There really is truth in saying that climbing is 90% mental. I found that i jump of rather than fall 90% of the time even when i think i am falling, i really could have held on a little longer. Screw the rating I would say. If it looks good, possibly doable and has good enough gear, jumpawnit!
  24. no doubt. and the creeds of calcedon (crete?) etc. were created merely to discredit the heretic practices of the aryans. this is the begining of a long line of added dogma to a nearly completely dogma-less spiritual way of being (notice i didn't say religion). I admire the way Jesus lived his life, but I struggle to affiliate myself with people who profess to be following the same man. Quie the cross-fire i am in i would say!
  25. doesn't this sound an afwul lot like the catholic church before they instituted the vernacular? Give the church your money and we will progress the faith. You know nothing, but trust us... we'll save you. Weird correlation. If science is taken to a 'religion' level. It does cease to be science no?
