i don't pay enough attention to fox to know if they boot folks for their viewpts, but it would hardly suprise me even if it was true - all they care about is making money, so the crazier the better for them as for the left, how many examples are we really talking about here? and do you really think all those folks who contribute their 10$/month aren't bitching currently? the left is certainly no more intolerant to opposition than the right - bill maher, for example, almost always has a geniune, intellectual conservative on his show, and not just for show or to be a whipping boy.
-
cost is a secondary concern, but shouldnt' be totally ignored - as i said, after 2 decades of being on notice, the time is up to complain about figuring out the cost and the transition process though there was a considerable cost associated with the americans w/ diasabilites act too, not that the 2 issues are much related - it was intelligent, w/ that case as w/ this one, to figure out the best way to implement the law in the most economical fashion
-
i disagree w/ the both of you precisely b/c there's plenty, maybe even a majority (my interest in the poll), of folks on the left who think the firing was wrong fox is fawked for sure, but there was nothign wrong w/ what williams said - he didn't say "i hate muslims" - and there need to be liberals on conservative shows and vice versa npr is nowhere near as liberal as fox is conservative at any rate, and i would love to see fox do fundraising drives every 3 goddamn months to stay on the air!

agreed - but couldn't they have planted some crack in his office or something instead? the cause given seems uber-retarded.

no wonder them japanese folks lead the league in suicides!

how high was the rent in rome again?
-
w/ the ladies of course! how many guys will sign up gay in order to get "cured?"
-
Really? Please explain. dude, they're gonna have to print new forms! make new recruiting posters aimed at gays (the navy should lead the way on this) and design/produce more gay-friendly uniforms (marines got this one covered)!
-
i agree w/ all that, though i think the point regarding expense is that the congress has known since 1992 that it needed to deal w/ the issue, and after 18 years of waiting, the expense of how its implemented can be pretty much be damned, b/c IT'S TIME!
-
for a guy who hates "strawmen" you seem remarkably obtuse in understanding your opposition!
-
how is that even relevant? do agree w/ your analysis on why obama is acting the way he is, but disagree w/ your only 2 options - DADT is going to disappear, through the courts if the congress refuses to act - it has to be the supreme court to do it though, and so they might as well keep the shitty policy in place till then

that's about the size of it.

good luck. the 4th reich took over a long, long time ago. the Man showed the Red man plain this wasn't his land, why should it be any different for us?
-
that's only natural, given we were rome from the start, no? mere molecules of water marking the passing of waves, we are!

TURNING and turning in the widening gyre The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity. Surely some revelation is at hand; Surely the Second Coming is at hand. The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert A shape with lion body and the head of a man, A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun, Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds. The darkness drops again; but now I know That twenty centuries of stony sleep Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle, And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

i think i can speak on behalf of the group when i say no one gives a shit what you think You care the least when he is right. guess the both of you must always be right then - i'm sure the world would be a much, much better place if all ya'lls ideas were made realities!
-
i agree, it's morally indefensible - what about politics has ever been moral though?

http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-10-21/military-s-don-t-ask-don-t-tell-policy-will-stand-for-now.html more heat for the congress to act - how jerked aroudn does the whole military organization feel - change/don't change it/change it again/etc - pressure's building - course, if the dems lose control of the house it's going to be that much harder, but this hiccup isn't the end - it'll keep moving up the courts and i just can't see the supreme court turning it down or ruling for the Side of Evil
-
i agree - but wtf, the political reality was made clear in the clinton-era - if you push the gay-thang full-throttle the retard conservatives win - judges are an important part of affecting social change, but ultimately the congress needs to be on board and use the force of law to secure the rights - the popular-will has been growing for gay right for a very long time and i feel like the breaking point is damn near - the secdef wants it gone, the president wants it gone, 90% of the kids i've taught for years now seem to want it gone, the pentagon's about to have it's report on how it will implement the new deal, so it will be soon enough. all that said, if DADT ain't gone by the end of obama's time in office, he deserves the big black mark by his name.
-
it's not like conservatives have been any more enlightened on the issue - and how many conservatives would hang obama from his left nut for supporting "judicial activism" if he didn't challenge it? the prez's point that the policy should be enacted into law so as to have the force of popular opinion is a good one. wonder how many conservaphucks would filibuster that though?

at the moment i'm still dealing w/ the "promote the general welfare" bit (yes, it does mean reading a bit further along in that there run-on sentence) and how, for average conservitards, that naturally doesn't include medicare, schip, obamacare, social security, or for that matter, welfare i'm sure you would have rocked the preamble recitation assignment better than a good # of my folks last week though - memorizing iz hard!
