  1. Okay we got one human ballast, we need one more. Must be able to walk upright, functioning brain an asset
  2. Giant buckets make better deadmen. Especially if they are big enough to live in
  3. *All Plab Bulletin* Need 1-2 more people to bring costs down for sick ExtremoMtnDude powie style trip March 13-20. Fly in to secret cabin near Pemberton, then two day ski out after freshie madness PM for more details if keener. Costs will be about $200 CDN/head for flight.
  4. On a 45* slope, 45* from slope is = 90* from horizontal
  5. I'd imagine you'd rip that out in a big fall pretty easy
  6. PLease elaborate, twas before me.
  7. Pickets are cooler cos you can sharpen em into wildlife spears I have never seen a convincing, working model of the mythical fluke/shovel conversion
  8. Try to picture it: A fluke will dive when it is weighted, now when it is weighted on an angle, ie, not straight down, the fluke wants to get out towards the thing that pullin it, not go down. SO, steeper the inlcine, assuming that fluke is always placed 90* to horizontal, there is less snow holding it in for a given placement, less for it to move through and out. (nonscientist grasping at high school physics and math ) You'd hafta have pretty unconsolidated pow for this to occur, I'd imagine.
  9. Think about this: The steeper the slope, the greater the possibility that the fluke can actually DIVE out the other side A guide once told me about the possibility of this, though I have never heard of a real scenario in which this happened.
  10. Pbbbbtttt. Yer the only one who likes those ones Drupy. Aces are excellent though for a career with Ringling Bros. All pointed and shit. *For Me* -Wide cracks, big enough to hand jam and above: don't matter waht you wear, gumboots, whatever -- it's all about pain tolerance, in hands and feet. Jamming full foot hurts less than only the front portions. -Thin cracks: slippers are the best. Sensitivity

  19. I was thinking more along the lines of a Powershield jacket with a hood, not a Dimension shell-type thing
  20. [beef] Why can't a a company make a stupid soft shell with a real hood, one that fits over a helmet. Not the embryonic toque on the A/T Gamma MX. Am I the only person who thinks this would be a good idea? [/beef]
  21. Two weeks ago there was only a few inches on the Nesakwatch in the area of the slide (which contrary to reports IS drivable, btw, with some hc), given the sun of late I'm sure you could drive much further if you wanted. Though for what purpose at the moment I'm not sure
  22. So what cool gear should I be furthering my debt on this year? BD has some wicked Epic tents on the webpage Will MEC drop the ball again in Spring '04 with another collection of basic stuff? What happened to the predicted price drop in soft shell technology What ever happened to that wicked Mammut Laser jacket
  23. You would have no trouble adopting the image of a van owner there Mike Like a glove
