You fool. Leprosy is somewhat contagious. Although I don't have it, your suggestion shows just what type of person you are.

Did you READ the proposal? About Saddam having to go on tv, stating he is hiding weapons of mass destruction or somesuch? Come on VB, will they require of him next the hokey-pokey? Perhaps the next resolution will require that he air on international television his suicide (see above).

Jay B, that was total hogwash. You seem to think that treaty obligations commit the French to compliance with US foreign policy...hogwash. Some of you others think that because the US helped France out in the past, it now owes nothing but obeisance til kingdom come...hogwash. JayB: I appreciate your example of Iraqi voices speaking in favor(?) of a US invasion, but certainly the opposite can be found, in numbers that unfortunately cannot be quantified. As you note an example, many counter-examples could I also note, the latest in the NY Times, yesterday or the day before. What I read seemed to indicate a growing anger amongst Iraqi civilians towards not only the US administration, but towards the US in general, something being seen internationally. So...partial hogwash. You note Germany's Rhineland invasion as some sort of parallel to today's situation. One word: Hogwash. I could go on and on, but I believe one word sums it up aptly: Hogwash.

I read another post on this thread, The Simpsons was mentioned, and it absolutely without doubt dawned on me: Dwayner is the comic-book store owner guy! You know the one: The pompous, condescending fellow who thinks the world is inhabited by fools worthy only of his contempt and scorn. I don't know if Dwayner is so entirely unconscious as the cartoon fellow, although he certainly makes a strong effort to convince.... Dwayner, you're sick.

There's a super fun route on I think intersection rock. You turn a roof up high and traverse a little to the right; it's like 5.7. Anyone remember the name? On the same rock just to the right is a 5.8 or 5.9 that's really cool too. How's that for good beta? Dog Leg is really fun, 5.7(?). And there's another fun 5.moderate in the area, just left or right of Dog Leg.

"We now interrupt our regularly programmed pro-war evening news to bring you a pro-war commercial. Stay tuned for more pro-war programming later." When did our government take over the news? I thought the tv medium was supposed to be independent. Hahahhahahaahahaaa oh how I kill me.

Hey thanks all for the awesome info. It sounds as if really the difficulties are more conditioning related, as opposed to technical. Bug, it sounds as thought the way you guys did it made it quite pleasant, in terms of time spent on the climb. Any approximations on the total mileage?

The French are attempting to prevent a war in Iraq for reasons that have little or nothing to do with the welfare of the Iraqi people. If they succeed the Iraqis will continue to live under Saddam Hussein. Let's assume that the US and Brittain are attempting to wage war in Iraq for reasons that have little or nothing to do with the welfare of the Iraqi people. If they succeed the people of Iraq will not be ruled by Saddam Hussein. Unless you are prepared to argue that the people of Iraq will be better off under Saddam Hussein, it would seem that your opposition to the war is motivated by objections to the US pursuing its interests, rather than what is in the best interests of the Iraqi people. As far as Europe is concerned, I am quite familiar with the history of that continent, especially the period in which WWI and WWII were fought. Understanding how their direct experience of these two wars would lead them to avoid war at any cost is one thing, claiming that this is an ethically defensible stance is quite another. Exhibit A - Kosovo. Exhibit B - Bosnia. Beyond their history, another factor which has influenced the European worldview has been their status as an American protectorate for the past 50 years. Over this time they have come to the mistaken conclusion that the European model of conflict resolution - by committee - is universally valid for all times and all circumstances, and their impotent dithering in the face of the senseless carnage in the former Yugoslavia demonstrates this as forcefully as an example ever could. So Europeans haven't engaged in warfare with one another since America made that impossible, and haven't taken up arms against a foreign threat since America assumed that responsibility for them. This hardly makes them the global champions of human welfare that they claim to be, as their conduct in defense of what was left of their colonial empires showed in the past, and as their abject refusal to use force even to prevent yet another genocide in the heart of their own continent shows now. Good god. What hogwash.

That three move boulder sickness was pure sick, man. Especially the second move; That was way fucking sick! That 12b rp seam was so sick I puked. Fuck doing that again. 3 bolts on a 100 foot sustained 11b? That's pretty sick, but not as sick as I am of the word "sick".

Estoy confudado, senor. Ayudame, por favor.

Hey, from what I've seen of Akira (that's the "15b", right?), it's not contrived at all. It's a route that starts in the back of a cave and climbs out and up a headwall. He was roped in and all, but didn't clip any bolts til turning the roof; why bother if you're only ten feet off the ground? I suppose one might simplky call it a boulder problem and end it at the lip, but the headwall would continue to call out.... And yes, that's what I heard: He simply reinforced a flake with epoxy. No holds were added. I personally have to consider it the hardest sport route in the world until repeated. No one else has even done the moves, even though it's been tried by other strong climbers. This can't be said about Realization, which really is like running a marathon with a hard sprint at the end, in comparison.

"unlimited growth" amuses me as much as anything else in the neo-liberal economic model. I swear capitalists are bigger idealists than communists.

About France? I have no problem with the french people. I doubt the majority of the are "ungreatful" or "US haters" or whatever. I hate Chirac however. I hate GWB too. What's your point? I can't voice opposition on the guy's politics? Let me then rephrase: Why such hostility against a particular french humanoid? Chirac, in particular. In other words, why do you hate Chirac so?

My parents wouldn't allow me the priveledge of owning fish. "No Time", they would say, what with my ballet and cooking classes.
-
But I still haven't heard straight from the haters as to why they're haters.... Perhaps they simply don't know, and haven't bothered to reflect?

The french (and the germans) are the first proponents of Europe, an economic entity which at the present is bigger than us. An independent, economically mature europe would be a serious challenge to our current monopoly on power. That's the real reason. The media version is they are ungrateful. Well it certainly seems then that they will hold similar diplomatic sway over the "undecided", don't you think?

Trask too will simply die one day, at the bottom of its cage. Quite sad, really. Almost touching.
-
Dear sir, why might you be inclined to feel this way, if I may inquire?
-
Goddamn french, why i oughta stuff a poodle in the wine-tasting orifice, followed by a something or other....
-
I had an iguana. It just bit you, until it got a jaw ulcer and died in the bottom of its cage. Quite horrible, really. Couldn't eat much towards the end. I was just an ignorant little kid; doesn't say much about my parents.... Makes me wonder about the human condition though, and about how most of us will simply die one day, at the bottom of our cage....

Maybe the small-town jock and hell-raiser could answer my question? He certainly seems to have the credentials....
-
Yes I truly am quite furled eyebrows over this french hating going on. Maybe if someone explained it to me....
-
"Because there's a lot of fruit?" Oh sweet jesus help me now hahahahahHAHAHAHAHAH!

I'm still trying to figger out why he's so pissed at the french. You'd think his anger would be directed at the instigators of malfeasance.... Or is he thinking that the rest of the world should just fall over to prove their "morality"?

Or you could try HALF orange and HALF strawberry? It is a form of madness, but I have done it myself, but once.
