  1. I suppose you could look at student achievement as one metric. My guess is that an inverse correlation exists.
  2. It's prognostication, not a smorgasbord. You don't get to choose the ones you like. "Can I get seconds on the union busting?" "No, shut up and pay for Tacoma's bankruptcy you tool." Not union busting--public employee union busting. If your big gummint daddy is as benevolent as you believe, there should be no reason for public sector unions to hold the rest of us (read: the private sector) over a barrel for extravagant pensions and benefits--or to even exist.
  3. I like #4. It has gotta happen soon.
  4. My point is this: you are the epitome of the willing dupe.

  8. j_b isn't the brightest lantern in the shed. Maybe we're just expecting too much.
  9. Since you do, in fact, take the bait without fail, it is probably safe to assume we regressives are using the correct bait. Fillet of Commie, anyone?
  10. I read it, but perhaps you'd like apologize for your thuggish behavior? Did you miss the date on that piece, Trotsky?

  14. In Spain, the popular front, a coalition of the left and republicans, was overwhelmingly elected by popular support in 1936. The fascists militias became very active after that and the cycle of violence led to a fascist regime. I love the way you commies bandy about "popularly elected" like it absolves later transgressions. A popularly elected leader ceases to be legitimate when he usurps electoral mechanisms within the constitution he swore to uphold, abolishes a legislature, ignores rulings of the judiciary in this regard, or when he fails to submit to subsequent scheduled elections. Adolph Hitler comes to mind of course--so does Allende, Zalaya, and your buddy Chavez. Spain's 1936 election, in the midst of the Red Terror, means nothing in light of the subsequent property and human rights violations which took place under their regime. The communist morons from here and elsewhere who fought in International Brigades on behalf of Republican Spain deserved what they got: 70% dead.
  15. You live in a secular republic, dumbshit--and you're still not happy. (Because you're a fucking commie.)
  16. OCD ALERT. BTW, isn't it funny (not) how fascist regimes always seem to spring up as a direct result of communist power grabs? Maybe if you guys knocked off with your bizarre Utopian shenanigans, the likes of Mussolini, Hitler, Franco, Pinochet, et al wouldn't bring on the backlash--or even exist.
  17. Um, because the smears were largely true--and you are, in fact, a communist. You have defended Chavez at every turn. Every single one. We warned you about this guy from the beginning and you have defended him. Your preferred model, if I recall, was 1930s republican Spain. Well, guess what: they were communists too. Killed thousands of Catholics and clergy without trial, if I recall.
  18. Dude, the spork is, like, the greatest invention of all time. Thanks.
  19. No Matt, you took up your usual tactic of mischaracterizing my charge. What I said was not that Obama criticizing the Supreme Court was beyond the pale, but, rather, that doing it during a State of the Union address was thuggish. Of course, you already know this. Honestly, Matt, I've decided I just can't keep up with the straw men you create, the disingenuous nature of your attacks, or take the risk that you'll resort to your fallback strategy: outing. Again Matt; just drop it.
  20. Yea, that story is great news. Hopefully we'll see wolves return to the mountains around here in our lifetimes as well.
  21. So is it free--or taxed? You have got to be the dumbest knife in this website's drawer. Seriously.
  22. I see Bush Derangement Syndrome still holds you tightly in its smothering grasp. We've covered all of your topics repeatedly in conversations long passed, and I'm not sure there's anything new to explore. Your insatiable need to have the last word notwithstanding, I think it's best we leave things where they are.
  23. Your WikiLeaks guy makes Scooter Libby look like a piker--and isn't really related to the question you need to address. (Where is your outrage, Matt?) Again, can you remember a president ever using the State of the Union address to try to humiliate the Supreme Court? BTW:Citizens United was a good decision, don't you think?
