  2. That's really cool. Seriously. I wish I had been up there to see it with my own eyes, but your pictures are a great consolation prize. How many many hours did you get outta one motorcycle battery?
  3. I have come to believe that jon actually wants lower hit-counts here and this is why he has asked Feck to abandon his moderator duties and is now encouraging him to unleash his "personality" instead. Hence, a tribute to Feck--the worst moderator on the entire interwebs:
  4. Sounds like you're looking for a road frame? If not, I do have a 2007 Gary Fisher Ferrous MTB 19" frame only that I'd give you for dirt cheap since it's been hanging from my garage ceiling since about 2008 and I want it gone. It has that "eccentric" BB that can be used for single speed or standard with vertical dropouts in the back. I built it up once, rode it for one week, then realized it was too big for me. Still, it was a nice, soft ride and could probably be configured as a burly commuter. Looks like this one.
  5. Obamacare was the cornerstone of his entire domestic agenda. I'd say the lie he told to get that one last vote in the Senate was far more damnable than any campaign promise. This is why the public no longer supports the ACA, and it is the reason his approval numbers are now as low as GW's.
  6. Hard to say. Still, I'd put Obama's "if you like the insurance you have, you can keep it (period)" head and shoulders above anything on Ivan's list. I think history will record it this way too. Of course, Woodrow's lie was the costliest...
  7. 1916: "He kept us out of war!" 2013: "I didn't set a red line, the world set a red line."
  8. Why not keep it "fair and balanced" and post up all the Repub lies as well? Certainly, even someone as biased and closed minded as yourself can admit they lie at least as much as our non birth certificated Muslim prez? Oh, wait, that might be asking a bit much from our resident CC righty extremo sprayer commando in chief... Well, if you and your fellow lefty nutjobs would step back and do a little self assessment from time to time, my services here wouldn't be necessary. Sorry I interrupted your circlejerk. BTW, when is the last time you posted fair-and-balanced? I've regularly criticized the Rs--most recently when they pulled that idiotic govt shutdown. How about you, Fairguy? Fair enough... I don't trust Obama and the dems any more than I do the R's. Good enough, tough guy? Um, if you could provide an example of this, that'd be great. I really don't mind libs so much, but I do hold a pretty high degree of contempt for libs who pose as "moderates." The sad thing is how often they end up believing their own faux persona. You and Rob both come to mind here. Now, as you were, Fairguy.
  9. Nice outing! Were you able to drive all the way to the upper lot??
  10. Yes, I do think it's time you updated your wardrobe. (But I think the watch goes with pretty much anything. )
  11. Healthcare signup and payment deadline one week from today. Looks like a FAIL.

  13. I think at some point there will have to be a legal/political/moral distinction made between human-controlled and autonomous drones.
  14. Fifty-somethings trying to impress the local hipsters. Not quite pedophilia, I suppose, but you do see it a lot in S-Town.
  15. Here's another Politifact call-out: Yet another Obama lie Obama said health premiums in the last two years went up slower than any time in the past five decades
  16. You realize, or course, that you're simply quoting the white house's version of the story, co-mingling it with the reporter's narrative, and then claiming it as fact, right? I have to assume this is deliberate on your part--versus willfully ignorant. But I do love the way Obama's minions will swallow as fact any piece of garbage he tosses out.
  17. Not really interested in sci-fi right now--or the meaning/relevance of your obscure, albeit botched quote to begin with. (Not to mention your poor mastery of the language after xx years swimming around in the big melting pot.) What I'm interested in, here, is Obama's growing list of lies. Here's another one from our Liar-in-Chief: “I think it’s important for us to understand that the Fast and Furious program was a field-initiated program begun under the previous administration” abc news
  18. BTW, it's "Klaatu barada nikto," and it was never uttered in the original movie version--only the book and the remake. Obviously, you've never seen or read any of it. As for "Army of Darkness," no, I am proud to say I've never watched it, read it, played it, whatever it is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klaatu_barada_nikto Also, BTW, it's than, not then. T-H-A-N, for God's sake.
  19. Uhhhhhhh, I have absolutely no idea what this means. But I suspect, just maybe, you have been reading a little too much from the fantasy or Gothic genres.
  20. OMG, IVAN, YOU ARE SO UNPREDICTABLE WHERE DID YOU COME UP WITH THAT!!!???
  21. Obama grabs Politifact's "Lie of the Year" award. Congrats to our President and his minions! http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2013/dec/12/lie-year-if-you-like-your-health-care-plan-keep-it/
  22. Basically, yes. Especially since the rest of you are about as original as fifty bumper stickers on an old Subaru.
  23. Thanks Jay. The lefties here have repeated the talking points "junk policy" speech so many times, they now actually believe it. More rote from the party of the free lunch. Not sure why things quieted down here so fast. Maybe because a certain megalomaniac showed up. Maybe cause they're all awaiting new talking points from their DNC spoon-feeders. Maybe they're just too stoned to care about all the hardship their good intentions seem to sow. Maybe all of the above. Happy holidays, Jay. It's nice to know there is at least one voice of clarity here.
  24. I agree with the "on-foot" comment. Still, in the middle of winter, it's hard to beat a fly over. As far as your airsickness goes, it probably has a lot to do with the type of aircraft you were in. I've had a modest amount of pilot training, and I can tell you that even when I'm at the controls I get nauseated flying a plane with pontoons. They tend to produce a lot more yaw than a wheeled aircraft. For a while I was practicing in a Super Cub with floats and was getting queasy every time I went up. Since I switched to a Cessna 152 (with wheels) I've been fine. Don't pass up another opportunity like this--just try a different plane. thanks again for the pictures and video. I love that place.
  25. Very cool. Thanks. Are you the pilot?
