  1. Spitzer's wife for prez in 2012? Was she somehow to blame for this? Withholding da love? Are all Democrat men appropriately named John? Why is Barney Frank still a congressman? Should money for sex be legal, safe, and rare? How did Spitzer protect himself from a "blue dress" investigation? Did she come? Oops; I almost forgot...did they cuddle?
  2. ...until they got too greedy. I noticed you used past tense. Guess even you can see the writing on the wall...
  3. I hear this argument a lot but haven't seen any legitimate numbers to support the premise.
  4. I don't think they should! In fact, if you have a problem with it, I would recommend you work on (re)organizing private sector workers for greater job security, better wages, and benefits. It'd be rather more productive than beating up on unionized workers and crying like a child whose ice cream cone went plop and now wants someone elses. How has that worked out for, oh, say, the United Auto Workers-- or, hmmm, I don't know; the textile industry? Better wipe my ice cream off of your shoe, junior--and shine mine while you're down there.
  5. I'm still waiting for an honest answer to the question I posed yesterday: Any thoughts, Prole? Or just more recitation from the little red book?
  6. Nor will they if you keep raising their taxes.
  7. Why should state and local employees enjoy any greater degree of job security or special protection from economic downturn than those in the private sector who pay their salaries? You lefty-slackers really take the cake.
  8. The unions have contracts and health costs are going up for everyone. What's your point? Bust their unions and lay off enough of them to balance the budget. Firemen included. We all saw this coming years ago--even as state and local governments continued to grow and grow. Anyone believe that property taxes will fall as quickly as they went up commensurate with true market value? The formula is simple.
  9. Wow! Those were a couple of nice pictures.

    Fuck; I hate that shit.

Huh? Tvashie is the one who put forth recognition as a motivation. I was lamenting his glorification therein. Why you be hatin' on me?

    awesome!

The concert pianist perfects not only their own being, but brightens the world for others through the expression of their music. Climbing is an almost purely selfish endeavor.
  14. Fairweather

    awesome!

That's funny, coming from someone who personifies the word ego and started climbing just two or three years ago.
  15. Fairweather

    awesome!

I've been climbing for almost 30 years and I still couldn't tell you what the word "redpoint" means. Seriously. And I only recently learned the word "take". WTF? Is that like "tension"...or "falling!!!!"? And recognition? Is that what it's all about these days? Sad. I've got nothing against sport climbers or rock gyms, but it is now apparent to me that spending too much time breathing chalk dust in confined spaces has certain negative impacts on higher mental function.
  16. AKA Democrats.
  17. Bailey Range - Olympus Traverse - Glacier Meadows to Queets Basin Mount Adams Circumnavigation Mount Rainier glacier circumnavigation
  18. Bob - declaring that Obama is Muslim is simply promoting a non-truth. Claiming he would enact sharia law here is utterly ridiculous. There is plenty-enough wrong with the Democrat Party platform to use without resorting to this kind of nonsense.
  19. ...maybe because they aren't. actually fw, they are. from social security to taxes to health care to inheritance tax to war and the military budget, the conservative republican agenda is not favored by the majority of americans. it's actually not even close on some of these issues. Some data might help your case. Or maybe you just hang out with different people than I do, eh? As it now stands, the only tool we have to clear up this question is an election.
  20. ...maybe because they aren't.
  21. ...into one picture or word.
  22. It looks...gerrymandered. I've seen wilderness areas in two or three non contiguous units, but this one looks utterly contrived. I like the Mount Hood north section additions though. Why is White River Glacier (what's left of it) canyon on the southeast being added? Is someone gonna open a pumice quarry or mine the remaining ice? Could it be that it is being included for social reasons? Gimme a break. edit: This "revised" map shows the Cloudcap Road is, in fact, going to fall victim to the infamous narrow road corridor strategy of exclusion and will be unrepairable if and when it eventually washes out. Sad--and somewhat underhanded.
  23. I would recommend spending most of your honeymoon in the vagina.

    ELF

uh, am i missing your point? is your dithering over a # of africans actually killed being done b/c you actually thought slavery was okay? are you one of my sunny southern friends from the old days, raised on gone w/ the wind and the uncle remus stories who actually think the "peculiar institution" WASN'T a monstrous wrong? Gimme a break, Ivan. I hope you know better. I just think it's outrageous that anyone could buy into such an absurd number. Especially someone who claims to know Jack Shit personally. BTW: "Hacked to Death" is still in use--"The American Pageant"--Kennedy/Cohen/Bailey--a 200-300 level college textbook, 13th ed. 2007.
