I think either are valid. I always think of strategerry...I mean strategy in terms of big picture--and this clearly fits Matt's stated/secret desire. Nope. I'll leave it as is. But I did change "Democratic" to Democrat.
-
Yup. Purely partisan politics might suggest that we let the Republicans win this one so THEIR guy has to face the mess that THEY have created. After all, it doesn't look like the next President will be able to punt on either Iraq or the economy. Then a Democrat might offer to save the day in 2012. Strategic defeat? Is this a Democrat principle I am unaware of? It sounds viable--given their history of ankle grabbing since Jimmy Carter.

Good for you! Actually, this is the only weekend all summer that I didn't climb--or mountain bike. Spent a couple days in Cannon Beach with my wife and kids.

Maybe because the top 5% are already shouldering over 50% of the personal tax burden? Do you really want to talk fairness? http://www.ntu.org/main/page.php?PageID=6

Both of the VP candidates out-speak their bosses. Obama cannot speak unprompted. Take another look between now and election day. The debates will likely reveal this too.
-
Ya know Doug, I just don't understand a guy who's willing to throw his anti-war stand out the window for political expedience, or a party that's willing to throw glass ceiling issues down the toilet simply because their own female candidate isn't the messenger they decided on.
-
Oh, I thought you were referring to the Wiki article. The Obama Youtube is obviously edited. (Duh?) Are you honestly saying you haven't noticed that the man has a few problems processing speech that requires thought?

Huh?

"Specifics": Specifics * It created 36 percent and 39.6 income tax rates for individuals. * It created a 35 percent income tax rate for corporations. * The cap on Medicare taxes was repealed. * Transportation fuels taxes were hiked by 4.3 cents per gallon. * The taxable portion of Social Security benefits was raised. * The phase-out of the personal exemption and limit on itemized deductions were permanently extended. Didn't affect whom? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omnibus_Budget_Reconciliation_Act_of_1993

The Vice-Plagiarizer himself! If he's smart, he'll be acting like a pussy cat at the debates. Think Hillary v Lorenzo (or whatever his name was).

How many points/EC votes will McCain/Palin have to win by to convince the psychotic left that the will of the American people has been cast? And with all of the hope invested in Obama this past year, will the inevitable clear and decisive McCain/Palin victory on election night result in an orgy of window-smashing violence by our nation's lefty kooks?
-
Do you honestly think Obama has the credentials to be our next president? (We're not talking VP here.)
-
Show me the numbers. Do you honestly think Obama will lower (or leave static) taxes on the bottom 95% of Americans? Seriously?
-
Obama: "I'm only going to raise taxes on the wealthiest 5% of Americans. Ever one else's taxes will go down."
-
"Um, uh, eh, um, um, um, uh, so what I mean is, um, er..." Qp0hU1THjuc You can't be serious about Obama. The guy is NOT articulate in the least...without his teleprompter. He obviously has a slow processor installed--or needs a new sound card put on his motherboard.

Haven't seen it. Seriously. The text version reads more like she's "asking" for prayers, not laying claim to God's favor.

Do you disagree then with Sarah Palin's description of the Iraq War as a mission from God? If she said it: yes. Provide an full, unedited quote from a commonly accepted neutral source. Will this suffice? Or do you need a notarized transcript? Really, all this is pretty common knowledge now. So where's the video? Why no link to it in the story?

I recall entropy relating to mass, chemical changes, and temperature, but not, in a direct sense, time. Maybe insomuch as the concept of irreversibility is tied to the 2nd law of thermo? In any event, I'm basing that particular, and admittedly random thought on some possible future scientific rewrite that somehow "skirts" known law--and it's been a while since I studied physics. I don't think that a faith in God and a quest for knowledge using scientific method are mutually exclusive, but throwing up one's arms and using "God" to explain what is not yet known is certainly a cop-out--one that even God would not condone.

TTK junior? You're a mini-moron, Josh.

What are you gonna do if you find one, Porter?

What Fairweather believes: We are the current result of a universe naturally creating order from randomness. Sentient life is the ultimate expression of this organizing process. or Time is not linear as we perceive it. There is no beginning or end, only an infinite number of instances arranged in no particular order. Every moment has always existed--and will always exist. or There is a God.

Good analysis by Fineman. The race is Obama's to lose--and he's doing a fine job of it: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26640489/
