  1. OH. DUH! okay, now i *really* get it. thanks, guys!!! off to get me a webhost ...
  2. dude, where can i get an outfit like that???
  3. okay; now i think i get it. the impression i got from iain's first post was that bandwidth had to do with speed but i wasn't sure how the host could put a cap on that. so, just so i have some idea, what kind of "usage" would put someone over a 256kbps bandwith limit?
  4. you bet they're fun! twin tips are like skiing on shorter skis ... but without sacrificing the length or swing weight.
  5. i want to fully understand what the difference is. some sites use the term interchangeably, but the host i am looking at differentiates. they offer unlimited data transfer but limited bandwidth. so how is that going to affect what i put on my website and/or what i do with it?
  6. can someone please explain the difference to me?
  7. i love it when you miss me!
  8. you are BADASS!
  9. yeah, i saw that. not in person unfortunately, but anyway. tanner is such an amazing jibber. i can't believe how effortless he makes it look! rails scare me, but i think skateboarding this summer is going to improve my freestyle skills on the snow come winter time.
  10. happy tiny-bit-belated birthday, and welcome to the "i'm 30" club! (hope you got lots o' spankin's!!!)
  11. fejas knows his shit, but i just wanted to add a few things. according to tanner hall, "If you're doing a wall ride or some urban rails in the city, that's jibbing. If you're going skiing, you're going skiing. And if you're going jibbing, you're going jibbing." there are plenty of newschoolers jibbing in the backcountry as well -- off of trees and whatnot. (going backwards is called going "switch".) "The Pocket Rocket, one of SKI Magazine's picks for Gear of the Year in 2001-02, is one of the original big-mountain super-fat twin-tips. [...] But with sidecuts ranging from 21 down to 15 meters, it's easily the shapeliest of the super-fats. And who says deep-sidecut skis won't skid in powder? The soft and supple Rocket does. [...] It's lightweight, nimble, and noticeably soft, the better to enjoy the sensation of powder surfing. And with twin tips, it's ready to go huge off backcountry kickers." (source) i see a lot of people skiing inbounds with the pocket rocket and loving it. personally i wasn't even that impressed with it out of bounds, but i like a ski that feels a little more solid in the tips when the ride gets rough.
  12. i agree with just about everything you said, but you might be suprised how many people are using the pocket rocket as their only ski - even when they ski out of bounds only 10%-15% of the time they are on the mountain. nice to hear from someone who's been on more of the twins. i'd been wanting to try the k2 enemy's all year, but couldn't demo them. ditto for the line's.
  13. i think i'm gettin' a pair of 1080's for next season. that and some nice fat skis for when it's really deep. you'd never find me without a smile on my face ...
  14. yeah. why don't you read the original post that started this thread? regardless, i do think twin tips have given something of a boost to beginning/recreational skiers and those who don't even give a shit about parks or pipes. i'm not saying it's major; i'm just saying ... ERIK, JUST BECAUSE SOME OF US LIKE TO JIB DOESN'T MEAN WE DON'T LIKE TO SHRED THE BACKCOUNTRY TOO.
  15. huh? says you! plenty of jibbers would beg to differ ...
  16. my friend said the seth pistols are good for the park but a little soft for rippin' the backcountry. i wouldn't really know ... because they don't make the fuckers short enough for me to ride!
  17. dude, your website's freaking me out!!!
  18. what i wanna know is ... how come there are no girls in your club? i wanna kick some girlie ass!!!
  19. no ... you're not!
  20. i've ridden the salomon pocket rocket and i was not impressed. if someone gave me a pair for free i would sell them and get a "real" ski. for fats, i could ride harder and do more freestyle stuff with the non-twin dynastar inspired. but back to the original question, the salomon 1080 is an awesome ski - for in and out of the park. comparable to that is the rossignol scratch fs. get some ... and jib it up, dude!!!
  21. i've got waterfront property and a wetsuit, but i live on union bay so if you're coming from the sound it might be a bit of a haul.
  22. now that's some funny shit!
  23. well, maybe not ... but the last 360bpm jungle party i was at had a mosh pit. i'm not trying to convert any of you. i don't need haters in my crowd. i'm just posting some info in case anybody is actually interested. and i don't give a fuck if you aren't!
  24. you're making me chuckle.
