maybe you need a bigger forehead. ha, ha.

it's all good. well, mostly. and even when it's shitty it's still better than working or watching tv. if you love it enough you will find a way to enjoy most conditions. the only conditions i don't really enjoy are gusty winds and no visibility; everything else has its own sweet spots.
-
aw, man; i'm so jealous!!!
-
alpinek, thanks for the very nice private message you sent me. it was almost as nice as the stuff you're saying here in public. now we know where you're really coming from - you just don't want to fork over $44. and that's fair. the problem i have with you is saying is wasn't worth it. that's relative, so you're free to say what you want but you WERE NOT there. the person i was skiing with thought it was. and while i didn't pay $44, i still thought it was worth the gas money and the time it takes to drive there and back ... and then some. saying i thought the conditions were awesome is not talking out of my ass. i was there.

hey greg, i'm not really one for rumors, but someone told me those two had a little something in common once ... if nothing else, i guess they both hate me. and that's enough to start a club! alpinek, you can get annoyed all you want. from where i stand, your comments were based on you sitting on your ass with your i've-skiied-here-for-30-years-and-know-everything attitude. *my* attitude has nothing to do with who i work for or where i come from. (and you're an ass to ASSume that just because i'm half oklahoman means i've spent *any* time in that state!) get a clue from muffy. her attitude rocks.

the aclu has it's niche. if it's a lawyer or lawyer-wanna-be we're talking about, i might recommend the national lawyer's guild as an alternative.
-
thanks, greg w. i'm glad somebody "got it". i think all of my big talking was directed at alpinek ... who was doing a lot of complaining about something he wasn't experiencing firsthand. but, allison, if you can kick it in the pipe and spin 360's off jumps, i'd consider taking lessons from you.
-
don't mind greg w. he likes to flip shit - and we like him that way. the best way to find out how active a group is ... is to get involved. that way you'll also find out if you like the people and what they're working towards.
-
in your dreams, allison. why does everyone suddenly want to kick my ass on the slopes? because i'm having fun skiing and they're not??? the challenge to alpinek was a rib he brought on by complaining about shitty conditions via armchair. i have no interest in proving i'm a better skier than anybody. i could care less. i know i'm not the best skier in the world. but i think i'm a fairly good one ... and what's more, i enjoy spending time on the slopes so much that i can enjoy myself in just about any conditions. all i wanna say is stop complaining 'cause if you're not having fun, it's most likely your own damned fault!
-
actually, greg w, i think the aclu would be more prone to protect the rights of people to hurt other people's feelings.

i saw a 15-hour movie once. IN GERMAN. well, actually it was a mini-series in germany, but they showed it here in one go - over two days at the grand illusion. it was awesome. although, somehow i think i'd have more "fun" at a lotr movie marathon ... ps, colonel: "pee"
-
i don't know. doesn't seem like they're very active, but i know it takes a lot of work to keep a website current, and it could just be that they're deficient in that area even though they're working their asses off on "real" stuff.
-
"Braindead was the original title for the movie, but Vidmark changed it to Dead Alive." when the third lotr comes out, i'm hoping cinerama will run marathon showings of all three books ... a screen release of the extended version of the fellowship would be nice, too.
-
you'll have to catch me first.
-
does it look like this? 'cause that would be heavenly!
-
crystal got 10" overnight. yum. if i didn't need the money i would have called in "sick".
-
geez, greg w. i think i need to get myself a wife!
-
shouldn't you do that anyway?
-
i could be up for index if it's gonna be dry. call me.
-
you're right colonel; they're made to be used either way.
-
ha, ha! you must be right, erik. you're always right! i'm just messin' with you anyway, alpinek. i know that doesn't always come across via the internet. i am indeed enthusiastic about skiing - more so than i am about climbing. i LOVE snow!!!
-
pretty!!! and at a mere 10.5 hours away ...
-
you trying to knock my skiing, alpinek? i'd go head to head with you any day. i know a lot of people who have been skiing a LOT longer than me, but not only can they not keep up with me or go where i go; they've actually skiied *far* fewer days in their lifetime than i have. you seem to think i'm the only one who went up there and had a ball - i guarantee you that you are sadly mistaken. some people are just sissy skiers. if you only like to ski on 2-foot fresh powder days, i feel sorry for you. for all care, feel free to stay at home and spray about how miserable the conditions must be ... less people i have to worry about getting in my way and tracking up the slopes.
-
winter market - i'll be there!
-
huh? i went today and it was freakin' awesome! i brought a friend who paid full price and he said it was definitely worth it. okay, there *are* some rocks but the "very light coverage" is limited to a few areas which are avoidable if you pay attention to where you're going. i don't care about a few rocks here and there. mountains are made of rocks. if you're careful enough you can run over the damned things and hit 'em without taking core shots. my skis are for skiing on; not looking pretty when they're upside down. best run of the day: avalanche gully - DREAMY powder through there. plenty enough nice soft powder on snorting elk and out beyond that area as well. it won't be as good tomorrow unless there are freshies. moguls are starting to form everywhere.
