not trying to argue with you, but i can't see how failing in high school can be considered *that* dishonorable. maybe over there it is, though. (i don't really know.) i just think it's harsh.

dude, if you're down for a bivy or just sleep in your car, you can pretty much do that anywhere. i've only paid to camp once and that's because my partner insisted on setting up shop in the campground. the lot across from the apron lot always works, and then there's always the spit down across the railroad tracks. i've also parked in other places closer to civilization when i was by myself for the added feeling of security. as for "real" camping up there, i'm pretty clueless ...

umm ... we just got back from squish on sunday. but i'm sure we'll be going back again in the not too distant future. stay tuned ... that's my favorite place to climb for sure. and if you're into multi-pitch stuff you'll definitely love it. i might be heading for semi-dirtbag status in a few weeks myself.

okay; i didn't quite get that part. i totally agree with that. in climbing and other areas of life.

it may be stupid, but i don't think it's that easy. people have different levels of risk that they feel comfortable with, and people have different levels of risk that they like to operate at as well. some people think they're solid leads if they can get up a climb even with taking a whipper; others think they're only solid leads if they can onsight it without shitting their pants. it's hard to tell what your partner's like until you've climbed with them sometimes. but yeah; i agree that choosing your partner wisely and having a good partnership are key. i like people that aren't afraid to back off of climbs.
