Reply to picture Obviously the hardman Iceman has passed away, only the old frail and weak internet cowboy spraydawg is left, he spends more time climbing on the internet now than he ever did at the crag. He finds himself going to climbing areas …not to climb but to take pictures to manipulate with photo shop Sad Sad Sooooo Sad Have a nice day spraydawg

This is what I think about 3 bolts in one body length The rock there is steeper than it looks in the pic and actually it is 3 bolts with 2 rusty chain links for pro. I use to skip the 2nd bolt till a few years ago my girl friend took a lead fall with the bolt at her feet in the same climbing area (nevermind) she has had multi surgeries and will never get back to 100%, now I clip all bolts own a stick clip and use it. Something like that can wake you up to climbing safe. It’s a sport climbing area, we go there to have fun and get in shape for when we really need strength and bravery to pull us out of danger. Funny how a few like to talk trash about the most used climbing area in Washington you do realize you are just a few screaming crows and in the minority. Yo Iceman you can expect a reply every time you post this pic in the future LUCKY

Iceman/raindawg/Don Ryan I noticed you keep posting this pic, I could not find the one with the burgers where the bolts are. What’s up? This is my favorite warm up Hurly Burly 5.9 I start off with it when I get to the crag than I do Lovey Dovey 10-A to the left and by then all the crew has shown up and we head to nevermind to pull down on the harder stuff, I don’t under stand why you seem to think hang’n with friends climbing sport routes is a bad thing. Some of us old men like how climbing hard sport routes can put you in really good shape and extend the ageing process, at over 50 I can climb harder than most kids…love that steep stuff and the upper body strength. Iceman I think you are getting old and senile, dude give sport climbing a try, What up, afraid of getting the body back you had 20 years ago?
Mt St Helens - Monitor Ridge 8/18/2007
LUCKY replied to olyclimber's topic in Southern WA Cascades
Mt St Helens is my favorite peak …it has it all, a view of Rainer, Adams, Hood and a look into the crater, wicked feeling standing on the cornice looking at the lava dome. One time I climbed through the rain to a sunny summit and a glorious view of all the peaks above the clouds. I like to do it mid summer, start at daylight, 3 hours to the summit with ski poles than do the ape caves when it’s hot…they are a must do!!! I took my girlfriend through the ape caves on 8/13/07 she wasn’t expecting that much scrambling she was jazzed, we had a great time, we started early from the first entrance going up, I like it better that way, we did not see a sole in the mile and a 1/2 upper cave, I always forget how hard the moves are on the wet 8ft wall, it actually feels like climbing. -

153 bolts X lets say $3 a unit $1 for the bolt and $2 for the hanger = $459 and that doesn't include the belay bolts either? Wow. Serious scratch. Serious work too.
Yeah especialy from a dude that drives an old beat up Festiva He deserves better than he gets from the spray here! -
Thanks Air Dave, a very informative trip report thanks for taking the time to write it up in detail.

That's a great time, dude that's a lot of climbing in 7:04 and you pitched it out. Some friends find it hard to believe, I assured them how honest you are. It might be easier to convince them if you give up the beta of your Ideaguy speed tricks. Come on!! give up the beta Air Dave!!

Fish and wildlife gets money from the George Amphitheatre and are supposed to see to the clean up after concerts, that is why the pile by the potties, it's been picked up just not hauled away, it's look'n like they are waiting for the last concert, or after Dave Matthews plays at the end of August to haul it away, the Dave Matthews concert really trashes the place, so be prepared if you do a clean up now it will just be a waste... you could talk to Fish and wildlife about how disgusting it is and how the area needs new potties that are pumped on a regular basis.

Give'n it to BETTY 8D OMG I'm spray'n on my own thread!!!!!

What I think is cool about climbing and grades is that you can jump on any climb you want and have a go at it, without a judge or coach or proving yourself worthy and if you can send, you didn't have to kiss ass to get there.

Found nut tool at nevermind...Yeah!!! I don't know what it was doing there , maybe a beer opener? Can you believe it, a trad geek that climbs sport also, how lame is that Well anyway dude or betty I got your tool, let me know if you want it back. LUCKY

Yeah!!! I called CR and they said they would reimburse me in a billing cycle or two. The point is a year later they did an unauthorized credit to my online purchase, it just pissed me off to have to go through the effort to get it taken off, I hate when they try to scam you like that, it's a good thing I keep a good eye on my bill and I am not lazy or I would have got scamed for a few issues I didn't want.

A year ago I subscribed to consumer reports magazine , I really didn’t like the mag and in my quest to cut paper waste I was going to drop it , than I got my credit card statement with a 26 dollar unauthorized charge…called up …we don’t know how it happened, your on the automatic subscriber list …yeah right!! SCAM!

The castle...the guide book says a scramble, it looked more like death choss to me so I opp-ed for a solo of the 5.7 dihedral it's short but a bit much for a down climb. Lane can be trickie finding the entrance to the scramble, Unicorn the real summit is not the horn of the unicorn witch is a might bit hard to be considered a scramble but was TEVA do-able. You didn't want to much beta did ya...it would ruin the onsight Good luck

RED TAG A climb I was putting up comes to mind, a roof that I placed 1/4 inchers on to hold myself under the roof for cleaning, I red tagged it so everyone would know to stay off, because it was unsafe...so here is were Karma would come in ...try to shank a route and find yourself on bad pro and bad holds I have a friend that was work'n a 5.13 at the coulee for like 2 years, he put a lot of work just getting it ready for a red point, days of hanging under a roof and lets not forget the $$$ for hardware, he was getting close to sending his hardest route to date...oh can you think of the JOY he would have felt !!! Instead his route got shanked...he has stopped climbing at the coulee...that sooo sucks because he has put up many of the routes we all sooooo enjoy. He put his time , money and part of himself into that climb, now he is BUMMED so someones ego can be stroked  If you want a FA put up your own routes, or let me know you can have my FA's because it means nothing to me , I give a lot of FA's away..but then I'm not really a climber and who want to shank a 5.7D . Here's an Idea I will supply the hardware and the drill for any worthy climb to be put up ...do some work and you can have all the FA"S you want and we will all have more climbs to climb. In the real world of route setters, we basicly know who is work'n what and show each other respect, not that a route has not been shanked just for giggles , that is the; Price of Complancency 11-B and a good story.

I had to do the beached whale move to top out that climb...I so suck..top'n out in the snow...EPIC...you the MAN!!! Thanks for the story looking forward to running into you at the crag :wave:LUCKY

Skate creek road is open, drove it yesterday, it's about in the same shape as last year with a few new repairs.
