  1. whats up lambone! what tent was the bogus zipper on, or do all the new tents have the same zipper? Go to REI or call Black Diamond and relay your plea. Iam sure the folks at BD will replace your tent.
  2. Was wondering if anyone has any beta for these routes. Do they still have snow on them?. Does anyone have any sugguestions for a pin rack for the Thin Red Line? Has anyone been in the vacinity lately?.. Any info is appreciated.
  3. Well if its still slushy all I can say is be carefull. Thanks for posting the location picture, I wasent quite sure were you were.
  4. Well dude take advantage of it. Its been kinda a shitty year for ice. Are you going to try and lead the ice? given your last trip do you think its leadable. Where exactly is this flow?
  5. lucky bastards!!!!!. Looks like grade 4+ to me although it might have a seriousness rateing given the fact that its spring and the ice probably isnt all that solid. What were the temps during your trip? Was there any water running? Those Pics are pretty sweet.
  6. DO "straight talk" at moon rocks. 10A
  7. BUY A GUIDEBOOK!!!!!. pure and simple. Paradise is at 5420. USE BLUE BAGS
  8. The bend is closed also. Go to the cave or moon rocks.
  9. I guess I see what your saying about the SE side but if you go that way your just creating alot of work for yourself. If I were you I would just go from the Castle-pinnicle saddle its easier, faster and probably alot safer. Dont listen to people that tell you to stay away, the only consideration is the avalanche danger other than that its a great trip.
  10. If your looking for good snow in Rainier the only place you'll find it right now is in the Tatoosh. The snowfield right now has a little bit of sketchy ice on it with the occasional turnable snow. The snowfield is however a great ski/board but i'd wait until we get more snow, the freezing level has been high and its been raining to like 7000 feet. If your a good skier I'd recommend the snowfield variation that takes off on to the nisqually at 9000 feet the snow will be alot less wind blown there.
  11. All I can say about this sling meathod is you will die pure and simple. If you dont believe any of this advice you will sure as hell believe it after a few good size leader falls. "Gee I wonder why I go through new slings all the time". Be safe man dont die, people depend on you!!
  12. listen up "hikers" dont plan on using the "cross country" zones as overflow when backcountry camps are full. these areas have limits too... hey if these areas didnt have limits are such "harsh" permit regulations Mount Rainier would look like the forest service full of all your nice fire rings litter and gross hunter camps. The purpose of the park sevice is to preserve and to protect and not to exploit this awesome area. the more and more people want to do the trail the harder it is going to be to join those numbers. the limits in the National Park will not change to accomidate the thousands of people that want to do the trail..... hey if magic mountain is full for this round,,,,guess what you have to wait until the next one!
  13. I'm sorry.I didn't mean to sound rude but its pretty sad to want someone to haul a load up to muir for a climb. If you cant haul five days worth of food five miles then you shouldn't be climbing Mount Rainier.
  14. you pathetic climbers, you do know that PAYING someone to carry loads, guide, etc, without an IBP. Is ILLEGAL. Hey... now that you've included dates with your post we'll be watching!
