Phil- It is in the Stuart area and the rock is (like Stuart) a mixture of good and bad. It is about 1000 feet high. Not Pennant or Little Annapurna.

Just because a dog can do it, doesn't mean this one isn't worthy. I bet Darin has been there.

Here is that slab on Vesper, about two weeks ago:
  7. Ivan- Run a search and pull up the thread from last year. It was mostly speculation, but there was some real information there as well.

Gregm-With alders and what looks like pines, I'm guessing it is relatively low elevation on the east slope somewhere but I think it's be lower elevation than where you describe.

Slaphappy- I think you are right that it is probably very rarely climbed in a day. But that sounds like a fun outing.

Sloper, the dog made it up there leashless but it was not the tooth. It is not near Snoqualmie Pass.

This spot has been enjoyed by more than one cc.com poster and the most prominent peak in the background is a popular day-trip at this time of year.

In that case, I'll guess Toketie. Exept you can't see it from the road. Doh!

Slaphappy - I'm wondering why you have what appears as if it may be a sleeping pad on what looks like a relatively low elevation climb. Is this your clue?

No pun, Darin. The day before we climbed the CMC route, somebody had fallen off and died. They came along with the body bag, and we carried out the abandoned camping equipment and the rope that had been left behind. Slappy's picture looks like it may have a pine in the foreground (hard to tell), and the trees in the background appear as if they may be east of the crest or in a slightly rainshadowed environment. I'm guessing Coquihalla maybe?

Yes, Moran. I guess the "cadaver" gave it away?

No, Darin, but keep thinking. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Maybe I can think of a hint that won't give it away.... Just to make it more interesting, I'll add that on the day I took this shot, there was a cadaver there ---in this view.

The Grand Wall was already a "trade route" by 1973. It had been recommended to us as the "beginner's big wall," because it had 5 bolts at every belay.

That is my brother on the Split Pillar, in 1973. Look carefully and you can see that he is wearing RR's and standing in an aider.
