  1. A Newfie is driving a car and eating a maynonnaise sandwich when he hears a bad noise coming from the engine. he drives to the local garage and asks if the mechanic can check out his car. mechanic lifts the hood and pokes around while newfie finishes his sandwich. mechanic finishes inspection :"Yup, looks like you've blown a seal." Newfie: "Naw, its just mayonnnaise!"
  2. You know, they are looking for Canadians too. Just cause no one on cc.com has come forwards doesn't mean its not getting organized. I believe I heard some of the Squamish locals are interested...

I wear it to ice climb in and it rocks for that except you get slightly wetter than with a goretex jacket when you go under the shower bath on a spraying unformed slush pile.

Dru it sounds like you are more jealous than anything Admit it the rock looks good and so does the peak. Now shut up I have no doubt that the route was a FA but the question came up was the peak an FA or not and I thought I would clarify the issue also how long the road has been in place. If they didnt find a cairn on the summit they can call it a FRA. Yeah it is a good looking peak and nice rock although maybe not the biggest line in the area. HOWEVER I think I'm gonna have to rework my reverse psychology considering that Jordan actually went into that area after I posted the picture of the other peak 6800 as a spoiler.

Solid rock, just don't expect any pro you might actualy want to try those faces jordan, before you spray about how solid they are. and maybe climb a gravel pit too so you have some adequate comparison material.
  7. I was trying a FA once with this American fellow and he made us bail from 6 piches up some route because he had a cold No seriously I climbed with a seriously mental weirdo ex-army cop named Don once. Don suddenly realized while leading a 5.9 that he had "forgot to take the pills that help him remember things". I'm sitting there thinking "Like how to belay"
  8. Actually, I will tell you that road is not new this year - it has been there for 3 years. And the Kookipi to Big Silver road has been in place for more than 10 years. I wouldn't claim any of those peaks as a FA anyways as they were all climbed by prospectors c. 1900 lookin' for the great Fraser River motherlode. Not to mention deer hunters, by the way, its gun season now so dont forget to spraypaint your body bright orange before heading up the Nahatlatch. [ 09-17-2002, 08:38 AM: Message edited by: Dru ]
  9. There are huge walls on the east side of Spickard and Twin Spires/Mox Peaks has a giant east buttress. Good luck on the approach. You can see the walls in the Austin Post airphoto of Silver Lake in Red Beckey.

It's more versatile than pile (eg. polarplus, or synchilla) since snow and light rain don't stick. It's kind of wind resistant, too. And it makes a great first, or second layer. But it's not a substitute for a "hard" shell. It's what Twight would call and "Action Suit", I guess. Too bad it doesn't come in any day-glo colors. cloudveil makes a womens schoeller jacket in pink

  13. Doesnt Beckey Guide say that NE buttress of Golden Horn is quite loose despite the FA party ( I believe a Skoog was involved) saying it was a classic? Lowell you got any beta on that? You check that face out?

They must be xtra badass Yeah with the karma they gained from being ethical there they can now fly beer and weed in to Tantalus for a quick jaunt up the West Face 1968 route.

And Vantage has lots of nice cracks with nary a bolt for those inclined. Kurt was the most prominent to turn Rifle, CO into a chipped out outdoor gym by drilling huge pockets and turning a potential 14+ into a 13a too. I guess when trads go bad they do it in a big way
