Happy Canada Day (a day late) We got a 3 day weekend.... Do Yanks get a long weekend if July 4th is the middle of the week? Celebrated Canada Day by putting up a 10 pitch 5.9 it was excellent blah blah spray spray. Read all about it on bivouac.com in a few days. BUT on the way in I saw a real live moose on the logging road, plus a bear and a squirrel and some deeer and my friends had a pair of cougars visit their midnight bivy. Fuckin' A!!! I finally saw a moose!! Canada is great. Moose and squirrel - I was waiting for a little Russian guy with a bomb to show up... OK Erik you can start flamin' now!

He's a pretty funny speaker. 2 hour slide show with 10 slides, everybody laughing...i think his book suffered in translation. He did ride the train home through Russia though.

Leavenworth Rock I did this route with lotsa bolts. Four stars. Jim Yoder did this route with sketchy old bolts. Two skulls. Pat Timson did this route. Hard! Dick Cilley toproped this route. Fred Beckey called this route 5.6 and laybacked it. It's a 5.9 jamcrack now.

Into Thin Air - I get guided up Everest. But really i'm a good climber. People die. It's all Anatoli Bouukreev's fault. i feel guilty because i could have saved them because i'm a good climber. but i didn't.

That's almost as good as those guys who stole the garden gnome and took it around the world with them and sent postcards back to the guy they stole it from, and returned it a year later with a suitcase full of souvenirs!

Bob and Doug were Canada pre-craft brewing ( I won't say microbrwing since those breweries are pretty big now). Molsons and Labatts eh. I prefer Kokanee if I have to drink corporate beer. A bud in every bottle!

Dude there are shrooms wherever there are cows. Lots of cows around...

I'm waiting for someone to tell us all now how dangerous climbing on shrooms is along with those other dangerous pasttimes, soloing and rapping on 6mm cord!!!
