  2. Yes, I agree that Dan's Dreadful Direct should not have been sport bolted. And this harrassment at the Pearly Gates, what has gotten into theses people? Trail park passes suck and so does trailhead harassment by the rangers. The new routes at Frenchman's Coulee have been chopped because they were on private property and some guy who wears a painter's uniform hates sportclimbers. Dan Larson is angry and lambone's name is easily made fun of. This further brings me to once again ponder, what exactly is a moon dance, what is a freshie, and why do i have a "big lou" coffee mug while others are less fortunate?

    Calling Big Lou

    Right here! Spray away!
  4. Big Lou says "don't be smokin' dope in my hut, punks!"
  5. Holly- yes, I have been piss-drunk in el cap meadows and yelled at the climbers on the wall. Is that what you were looking for?
  6. You guys are just lucky that Big Lou didn't show up and put a 'wuppin on all yo' asses!
  7. If I avoided pot smokers, I would be spending a lot of time solo. I'm not even saying I'm not one of them. But, I am saying that whole "if you don't like it, stay out of the hut, fuck you, 'cause I'm a better skier/ climber" attitude is lame. If you want to smoke-out at muir, bring a windproof lighter or a tent. Because that is just inconsiderate.

  9. cigarette smoke won't do anything but stink up you're clothes and make you want to gag. But, have you guys ever heard of a "contact high?" Maybe the people complaining about you tools smokin out the hut don't want to get high in any way, shape, or form!? Are you so ignorant/ arrogant that you think someone who chooses and works to live a different lifestyle than you somehow has less rights to the mountains and it's facilities than you? ...pretty lame, guys.
  10. Just got back from Smith- weather.com can kiss my ass! Awesome weather. There were a ton of canadians there, but I didn't meet the legendary Dru. I did meet Hollyclimber and had the pleasure of getting sandbagged by her. here's to climbing in mid November
  11. i think 97 is the way to go. im coming from ellensburg, though so that is my obvious choice- i'll be there this weekend, you stayin at the grasslands? [ 11-09-2001: Message edited by: Charlie ]

  13. Pope- finally got my big lou mug yesturday from dr sniff II, aka hemlock. Now I'm stylin'
  14. "...low fifth class climbing leads to the summit...."
  15. muchas gracias- I will be ordering the vertical once I try them on at REI. Has anyone ordered from these guys before(barrabes)? Any complications? My input on boots- I wear my la sportiva makalu or 5.10 mountain master on alpine climbs, and my shitty old koflachs (think flourescent green)on ice, rainer, and winter climbs. Looks like this winter I'll be sportin' my new verticals: I'll be gettin all the honeys now! [ 11-06-2001: Message edited by: Charlie ]
  16. where are they on sale? That's a good deal.
  17. I'm planning on stopping off to carve some turns on my way to josh this winter. If I stopped at one place, which should it be?- also, how is winter access to mt shasta?
  18. If I had to say where I find the ratings to be most accurate it would be in the Icicle. The 8's 9's and 10's anyway. Trundle dome, classic crack, givlers, etc...I think it has to do with when the routes were put up. [ 11-05-2001: Message edited by: Charlie ]
  19. Climbed the tooth on saturday. The route itself was warm and dry with just a little snow on the trail/ ledge section. The approach is in horrible condition- imagine 1 1/2 ft of snow on top of a boulder field. My shins still hurt!
  20. FYI- We are having the 2nd annual extreme film festival here in eburg. They are every thursday around 7:00. The new warren miller and the banff mountain film fest are included. The shows are dirt cheap. (Last night's show, teton gravity research "feed the addiction",was only 3 buck. If you're on this side of the mountains, it's a sweet deal. I'll post the schedule if anyone's interested.
  21. p.s.s- women are the root of all evil. Never trust an animal that bleeds for a week but doesn't die.
  22. p.s.- I've added my photo to my profile so you guys will be able to identify me if you ever see me out climbin'
  23. Thinkin of heading up the tooth on saturday- you say less than a foot of snow? You think it will be wet?
  24. CWU- Ellensburg. slutty women, Vantage, Tieton, Levenworth, Snoqualmie Pass- all within an hour away.
