    BIG NEWS!

I'm certainly happy to hear that. Should make for a fun summer. I am interested in how exactly they're gonna get by the Angels. But what of the Fall? How they gonna do in the playoffs?

    jealous?

I think your second best hope is to do this. Before she finds out seek out one of the posters here who have said something particularly nasty about your gf in an attempt to exact some retribution. Get the shit beat out of you, or at least some visible facial trauma. Come home. GF: (shocked) "SWEETIE WHAT HAPPENED!" 111: You're not going to like this but... (Of course, first best hope is to delete the damn picture as soon as you can and hope the 40 people who have already clicked on "save as..." will be in it more for personal pleasure than blackmail.)

    BIG NEWS!

You think baseball is dumb, you should go check out a Sonics game. You can get tix for free or close thereabouts. Owners probably want to fill at least some of the seats so they're giving 'em away to charities (tax break too!). Anyway, the Sonics game is like carnival. These five minute timeouts every 20 minutes or so, so the break dancers or sonics gals can come out and entertain or the mascots can throw a bunch of free t-shirts around. Hilarious. Oh wait, and they have a little bit of basketball in between. Mariner game, now there's a good time, if you're currently satisfied enough with your life to not sweat wasting 3-4 hours you'll never get back sitting around and handing out money to people. A night on the town. Being a good American and such. Listening to baseball games on the radio, there's the ticket. If you actually have any care for who wins or loses it can give you some emotional lift and drop. Best part is you can do something else while the game drones away. Sweet music on a summer night, like cicadas or something.

    BIG NEWS!

Wilkerson played the past two seasons with the Texas Rangers. In 2007, he hit .234 with 20 homers and 62 runs batted in.
  5. Was up solo peak bagging Little Big Chief when a couple of fighter jets split the Dutch Miller Gap. What made it a little different was that it was three days after 9/11.
  6. I've always been leery of bringing my kids to Vantage because of the rockfall hazard. I guess the Feathers would be reasonable. The Sunshine Wall though with its rockfall hazard and the congested nature of the path seems like it would not be the best place to bring a whole gang of kids.
  7. Just thought of another story. Used to ski with this other family when our kids were like 4 or 5. One time at Crystal her son took off on one of those tree paths on the side of Queens, so the mom just stayed on the main run and waited for him to pop back out of the woods. However, unknown to her, he had taken this tree path that leaves Queens at the "toilet bowl" and head cross country all the way to top of the Quicksilver lift (he had been shown the path in a lesson). So she's waiting and waiting and he never comes back out of the woods. Needless to say she got pretty frantic.
  8. Sorry to hear you got such a scare Rudy. That sounds horrific. My wife lost one of our kids when he was two at Bumbershoot for a few minutes. That musta been horrible. With respect to radios, I'd suggest getting easy ones to carry (little ones) and just have them off, and teach the kids to turn them on in case of emergency. Do lots of practice with them too. Some can be a bit confusing. One thing that works pretty well is dress those younguns in crazily bright clothes/helmet that you can pick out a mile away and in a crowd. That can prevent a lot of dread.
  9. Well why not. You blame everything under the sun on liberal idiots. Jimmy Carter is to blame for the Taliban, Lyndon Johnson is responsible for the US-China trade deficit, and JFK is the reason your dick is so short.
  10. So Seahawks do I understand you correctly that you think the War of Northern Agression* was not OK, that Lincoln should have let the South secede? * The term a good Southerner uses when referring to the US Civil War
  11. What should JC have done? Started the end of the world by lobbing a couple ICBM's over the pole? That would've prevented the rise of the Taliban alright.
  12. Sort of like what was done in the US civil war? Or perhaps what is being done in Iraq right now?
  13. What if there was a sign in 15 languages that clearly stated not to tease the tiger. Would you still feel the same?
  14. Are you mistaking Vietnam with Korea, or is this a metaphor?
  15. SC, You make some good points, other presidents have done stupid/bad things. Though I do believe Bush is atop the heap in terms of making torture an official public policy of the United States. His civil liberties policies make him among the worst offenders and is my main cause for worry that the sky is falling (c.f. Naomi Wolfe video). Bush also resides in the top of the pack of presidents who have pushed our country into unnecessary wars. Bush also seems to be up there with Jimmy Carter in terms of having like nothing go right while he is at the helm. Victim of a bad situation? Victim of really stupid policy of hiring incompetent idealogues into tough important positions? Whatever the cause, he's certainly got the stink of failure hanging over his presidency. So anyway, my point is that, yes, for any single knock on the Bush presidency you can find someone in the last 42 prez's who's close to matching him (except for the official torture policy). However, tough to find anyone that shares the lead in so many categories. Bush has run the table!
  16. Blaming Carter for the rise of the Taliban is a bit of a stretch don't you think?
  17. Yeah, and Clinton's druggy brother, and Reagan's nutty kids and Bush I's draft-dodging, coke-sniffing son.... the list goes on and on.
  18. Yeah no shit! Fiscal responsibility and Reagan? Hmmm...let's take a guess to which president held the previous record (before GWB) in terms of budget deficit. But with Repubs it's all cool since "defense" spending doesn't count as spending.
  19. Yeah shit. Dyin's too too good for those hooligans.
  20. Is there any thread with more than 5 posts that you have not posted on?

  22. Yes you guys are right. Better to just be quiet and polite. But sometimes you just can't help a good quip here on ol' cc.com . And besides a little reality check on prices can be helpful to the community, not unlike calling bullshit on someone's inflated used gear prices in the yardsale forum. FWIW Marylou did say it looked like a cool job, and I have to commend the guy for being upfront about the big downside in his advertisement when he could have easily not mentioned that part. Sounds like it might be a cool job, probably a lot more work than a burger flipper, but certainly more interesting.

    Homeopathy

I think you might be talking naturopathy. According to this thread (the only reference I have for the definition of homeopathy) I don't see how you could have a homeopathic remedy for teething pain (discomfort associated with the teeth erupting through the gums) . Perhaps homeopathy would prescribe giving him just a little teething pain? Perhaps rub some sand on his gums? Maybe the homeopathic remedy you tried was pumice . And JayB what are you trying to do with your quote, compete with KkkKk's annoying foreign language posts?
