  1. I hope Instagram dies a swift and fiery death..... Until then, you all will be subject to my obsession with publicly posting images. Sorry! Kulshan last Saturday afternoon:

  2. Anyone else noticing this the past few years? It seems like you used to see some very old registers even on relatively popular peaks. Nowadays, most of the old brass Mountaineers registers are long gone and even the crappy plastic newer ones don't seem to last more than a year or two. I suspect someone with a beef is removing/stealing/tossing them, but does anyone know for sure what is going on? I have to think someone has heard/seen something, but I haven't personally. Maybe I am one of the few that care, but I miss reading the entries from friends who are no longer with us.... Can't wait to see if this gets moved to Spray like the old dayz!

  3. A little bit of pre season self promotion here. We had a new book out: Making Decisions in Avalanche Terrain by Jerry Johnson and Jordy Hendrikx. It is the only book solely focused on the most up to date thinking and research on "human factors". Website is: avalanche-decisions.com There are discounts for avalanche course providers or retailers. Thanks for looking.

  6. BITD I climbed Castle Peak in the Pasayten a couple months apart and the old brass mountaineers summit register had disappeared in the interim. Only takes one very active peak bagger with an excessive ego to make them all disappear in short order.
