KaskadskyjKozak Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Trip: Observation Rock - North Face Date: 9/25/2010 Trip Report: Hoping to get a little ice in (it is late September...) we headed up to Observation Rock yesterday. We had beautiful weather and great fun, but no ice. Currently the route has good firm snow that takes pickets well. We brought 4 pickets which enabled us to simulclimb a little more than half the face, and then pitch out two belayed pitches. The second belay was probably 150 feet in length. Now for pics... Early morning view from Spray Park: Traversing to the base of the route (7500 foot contour): Heading up first belayed pitch: Belaying: Summit Pron: Gear Notes: Crampons, axe+tool. Quote
Jim Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Ice or no ice - beats cutting the lawn! Nice. Quote
