AlpineK
Christian and I skied up Cannon Mountain Couloir today. The skiing was great. Crossing the river was tricky. All and all a great day despite the dreaded inversion.
Greg_W
Way to go, dude. Is the road gated down at the campground now? What were the temps like in the Icicle? Any ice?
AlpineK
They don't have a gate up right now. The temps were cold, but I didn't see much ice. Hubba buba didn't look fully formed. Word on the street is that drury falls is kind of sketch right now.
mattp
Good one, Mr. K. How much snowpack was there at Icicle Creek, the place where you leave the logging road to head up to the basin below the couloir, and at the top?
Greg_W
How far up could you drive?
AlpineK
You can drive to Bridge Creek. The snowpack down low is alright. Kind of funky crossing the river, but there is enough so the skiing is really good to 500' above the creek then its ok down to the creek. AlpineK
I didn't take a measuring stick Matt. There is enough snow that snowmobilers and skiers were having fun on th Colechuck lake road. There was enough snow so that the skiing was fun to 500' above the creek. Below that you had to pick your route carefully, but you could ski to the creek. I'm sorry I don't take measuring devices and a note book with me while skiing.
