I'm officially kicking it off with this set of photos from the recent polar vortex. This should start building more over the next two days.

Saw climbers on Crown Jewel yesterday and today on my daily commute from Hood River. Ice is much better further east. Temps were in the mid to high 20s this morning through Exit 35. High 20s at Multnomah Falls and then right at freezing or a little above at Crown Point. Ice should be good tomorrow as well.

Hit up Mist, again, early this morning. As above saw headlamps below Crown Jewel at 6:40am-ish. I climbed a pitch and went to work. What's better than that? Except for more pitches...and less work :)

Looked like they were descending as I drove back to town around 7:45, at least I could see someone at the belay atop pitch 1 but no where else. Yay ice!

Climbed Crown Jewel this morning (those were our headlamps). Wet and thin but protected with 10s and 13s. There was another team lined up behind as we rapped off. Not sure how long its gonna be in but the second pitch was in decent shape.
