Peter_Puget Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Does Boy Prophet still have the original bolts? Do you still need gear at the top? America thanks you! PP Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 As far as DFA knows, you still need gear at the top, although given the popularity of Rude Boys, the gear may be fixed. The Doctor has never ventured up there, however, so he's not 100% sure. Maybe when the bolt count doubles. Visual inspection will be your best bet, or if you still crave e-beta, someone at smithrock.com will likely answer you, perhaps even helpfully. Best of luck, and watch out for long whippers. Peter_Puget Posted January 6, 2003 Author Posted January 6, 2003 Thanks DFA. I am quite familiar with one of the potential whippers on that route although time has fogged my memory somewhat. Old age has some advantages I guess. PP Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Cripes, you're a bold bastard. Bit too much air 'twixt them bolts for DFA's liking ... yikes. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted January 6, 2003 Author Posted January 6, 2003 No DFA not bold; just gave into peer pressure. The three words more frightening/dangerous than "I love you" are "Go for it" PP Quote
allthumbs Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 why don't you two butt pirates get a room and talk it over Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 (edited) Trask, sometimes your lack of decorum can be a bit disruptive to the flow of conversation. It would be greatly appreciated if you would exercise a degree of restraint in your postings so as not to be so offensive. Honestly, children could stumble upon this material and be emotionally damaged, or at least uncomfortable and confused. Please, Trask. For the little ones. RuMR Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Gear is fixed for Rude Boys as of last weekend. If not, just put a yellow TCU on your harness, and a #4 and #5 stopper (?) and you should be ok. Business for boy prophet is getting onto the slab and that is bolt protected. Its been a while, but i think that's what i used. I would bring the stuff regardless of whether you can see gear hanging as it doesn't weigh anything and the other stuff has been there for a LLLLLLONG time... Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 Last time I was on Boy Prophet (4 years ago), it was all bolt-protected. A bit run out on the slab (12 feet between a couple of bolts, with a 5.11 move 10 feet out?), with the rest being fine. Have fun! Quote
